The FSSAI Technical Officer Selection Process 2024 continues to uphold its commitment to identifying individuals with the right blend of skills and knowledge. Aspiring candidates will have to go through two stages of the selection process. Both of them will be online written exams. The CBT Stage 1 is further divided into two parts: Part A & Part B.
FSSAI Technical Officer Selection Process – All Stages
The FSSAI Technical Officer Selection Process includes two stages. These are:
Computer-Based Test (CBT) Stage 1
The initial stage of the selection process involves a Computer-Based Test (CBT) designed to assess candidates’ general aptitude and domain-specific knowledge. This stage is further divided into:
- Part A – General Aptitude and Computer Literacy : This section is further divided into four subjects where each subject will have 10 questions, therefore in this part a total of 40 questions will be asked. The subjects are General Intelligence, General Awareness, English and Computer.
- Part B – Functional Knowledge : This section consists of three subjects. A total of 20 questions will be asked from Indian and International Food Laws, 20 questions will be asked from FSSAI, and 40 questions will be asked from other subjects.
Computer-Based Test (CBT) Stage 2
CBT Stage 2 is a more in-depth assessment, focusing on technical expertise and problem-solving skills specific to the role of a Technical Officer at FSSAI. This stage explores candidates’ ability to apply their knowledge in practical scenarios, ensuring that those who progress to this stage possess the requisite competencies to contribute effectively to FSSAI’s mission. Success in CBT Stage 2 is pivotal for securing a position as an FSSAI Technical Officer. In this stage, a total number of 80 questions will be asked for 240 marks.
FSSAI Technical Officer Exam Pattern – CBT Stage 1
The CBT Stage 1 will be of 180 minute duration with 120 MCQ questions. 4 marks will be given for each correct answer and 1 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.
PART A – General Aptitude and Computer Literacy
The Part A of FSSAI Technical Officer Exam Pattern consists of 4 sections which are divided into equal number of questions.

The total duration of examination is 180 minutes. The total number of question is 80. If any question remains unattempted then no marks will be provided.
