OPSC OCS Eligibility Criteria 2024
The candidates who are willing to apply for the Odisha Civil Service Exam, must meet the eligibility criteria set by the recruitment commission. The recruitment authority has invited the candidates who are minimum 21 years age and maximum 38 years of age having Bachelor’s degree from any recognized university. The candidate having Indian citizenship are allowed for the OPSC exam. Age relaxation and attempt limit of examination are also permitted to the applicants.

OPSC OCS Eligibility Criteria

OPSC OCS Age Limit (as on 01/01/2023)
The candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not be above the age of 38 years as on 1st January 2023. That means the candidate must not have been born earlier than 2nd January 1985 and not later than 1st January 2002.
Age Relaxation
Age relaxation is provided to the candidate who are eligible for the same. There shall be relaxation on the upper age limit of the reserved category aspirants, as shared below.

Odisha PSC 2024: Educational Qualification
A candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree from any University incorporated by an Act of the Central or a State legislature in India or an Educational Institution established by an Act of Parliament or deemed to be a University.
Candidate must be able to Read, Write and Speak Odia and have:
- Passed Middle School Examination with Odia as a language or a subject,
- Passed HSC or Equivalent with Odia as a medium of examination in a non-language subject,
- Passed Odia as a language subject in the final examination of class 8th in school or educational institute.
OCSE 2024 – Nationality/Citizenship
In order to be eligible for the Odisha PSC Civil Service Recruitment Exam, a candidate must be the Indian citizen.
OPSC CSE 2024: Number of Attempts
- An attempt of the preliminary examination shall be counted as an attempt of the exam.
- If the candidate actually appears in one paper of prelims exam, he/she shall be deemed to have made an attempt at the exam.

The candidates who have appeared in OCSE-2020 and/or OCSE-2021 and/or OCSE-2022 shall be allowed one more additional compensatory attempt for appearing in OCSE-2023 irrespective of their upper age and number of attempts.
Other Eligibility Conditions
- A candidate who has more than one spouse living, shall not be eligible for the examination, unless the state government has exempted the case.
- Government employee, whether temporary or permanent, are required to obtain an NOC, from their competent authority.
- If any candidate has been debarred from the Odisha PSC or any state PSC or UPSC, they will not be eligible for the OPSC examination.
- A candidate must be of good mental condition and healthy.
- A candidate who claim to change his/her name after HSC, they must present the certificate for name change.
