Quantity comparison for Bank exams: Quantity comparison is one of the most important topics for Banking exams. The questions of quantity comparison can be numerical or analytical. In order to do these questions, the students have to understand the basic concepts of the Quantity Comparison.

Comparison of Quantities:

In these types of questions, we calculate the value of quantities using our mathematical knowledge and then compare quantity 1 and quantity 2. There are different types of comparisons of quantities:

1. Quadratic equation based questions
2. When two quantities of same topic
3. When two quantities of different topic
4. Based on three quantities
5. When one quantity has numerical value

Tips for handling Comparison of Quantities Questions:

1. Don’t overwork yourself; focus only on what you need to do to make the comparison. You are only required to determine which quantity (if either) is greater, not how much greater one quantity is than the other.
2. The majority of Quantitative Comparison questions do not require elaborate calculations. Although a bit of pencil work may help confirm your analysis, if you are crunching a lot of numbers, you may overlook whatever math concept is at the heart of the question.
3. Whenever possible, do not compare quantities based on a geometric figure or other visual aid. Compare them instead based on the non-graphical data provided and your knowledge of mathematics.
4. This technique may simplify one or both of the expressions, thereby disclosing the comparison. If both expressions contain the same term, you can safely modify it by adding or removing it from both quantities.

Quantity II: How much time will the motorboat take to travel 1500 km downstream if due to wind, the speed of the stream was increased by 20%?

 Quantity I: How many days, a group of a man and three women will take to complete the same piece of work? 

 Quantity II: if the efficiency of a man was increased by 20% and the efficiency of a woman was increased by 50% then how many days would they take to complete 75% of the piece of work if they worked together?

4. Quantity : II ≥ Quantity : I

Q3. When 5 liters of water were added with some quantity of pure milk then the ratio of milk to water became 3:2. 

Quantity I: In the mixture, when 1.5 liters of pure milk are added then what will be the concentration of milk in the new mixture? 

Quantity II: Instead of 5 liters of water, if 3.5 liters of water were added and the quantity of pure milk remained the same then what would be the concentration of pure milk in the mixture?
