RBI Grade B 2022 Phase 2 Preparation – Complete Guide

RBI Grade B Phase 2 Exam Pattern

The RBI Grade B Mains exam consists of three papers: Paper 1, Paper 2 and Paper 3. Paper 1 and 3 are a combination of both objective and descriptive questions, while Paper 2 is a completely descriptive paper.

Note: 

  • For both Paper I and III, there will be 30 questions and 50 marks for Objective questions (some questions carrying 2 marks each and some carrying 1 mark each).
  • In the case of Descriptive questions, 6 questions will be asked, of which candidates will be required to attempt 4 questions (2 of 15 marks each (with difficulty level) and 2 of 10 marks each). In case, the candidate answers more than 4 questions in descriptive, the first 4 shall be evaluated.
  • All question papers (in both Phases, except the test of English) will be set bilingually in Hindi and English.

Step-1 – Solve or at least go through the previous year’s papers for the RBI Grade B exam to know the type of questions that were asked. This would be your first step as it would make you understand the pattern of the questions being asked so that you can streamline or steer your preparation in the direction required to clear the exam.

Step-2 – Go through the syllabus at least twice!

RBI Grade B Phase 2 Preparation Strategy – Economic & Social Issues (ESI)

For Economic & Social Issues (ESI) preparation you can follow these two steps:

  • Measurement of Growth – Various Indicators like GDP, GNP, NNP, National Income etc
  • What is Monetary Policy and Fiscal policy?

Step-2 – Read and Practice Answer Writing for the Descriptive Questions.

In this section questions are generally asked from the following topics:

  1. Current events related to Economics, Banking and Finance, Politics, Environment etc.
  2. Government Schemes

Static questions are rarely asked but one should know the concept as sometimes questions can be asked in mixed form means Static + Current.

Coverage: Start Covering the Current Affairs from the month October 2021. Give more priority to the current affairs from the months of January – May 2022).

The following types of questions can be asked in the objective paper of ESI:
