Eligibility Criteria:

The Railway RRB Bangalore eligibility criteria include age, nationality, and educational qualifications that need to be filled correctly in the online application. 

Nationality: You must be an Indian citizen, OR a citizen of Nepal/Bhutan, OR a Tibetian refugee, from Pakistan, Burma, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Zambia, Tanganyika/ Zanzibar, Malawi, Ethiopia, Vietnam and Zaire permanently settling in India.

Age and Minimum Qualifications: If applying after Class XII or a diploma in engineering for the undergraduate level posts of the RRB Bangalore, you should be between 18 and 30 years. Graduates in Engineering, MSc, B Tech candidates, depending on the requirement of technical posts, need to be lower than 33 years of age. 

The Railway RRB Bangalore offers an age relaxation as per the GOI norms.OBC non-creamy layers get 3 years more while the SC/ST candidates get 5 years of age relaxation. PwD candidates and Group C or D employees get from 10 to 15 years relaxation, ex-servicemen up to 33 Years plus years in service plus 3 years, and divorced/separated women between 5 to 10 years depending on their category.

The RRB Bangalore has recently announced its intention to recruit suitable candidates for its vacancies in the CMA, DMS, Group-C level posts, and the JE or Junior Engineer posts. The Selection Process:

All appointments to the Railway RRB Bangalore are made through a screening test called CBT-1, which is followed by the slightly more difficult CBT-2 computer-based tests. If you fulfil the eligibility requirements, you can fill in the online application form on the official website. The entire selection process is merit-based, transparent, and subject to scrutiny and the norms of GOI, the Railway Board, etc. There are reservations available under the various categories directed to include OBC/ST/SC/ EX-servicemen etc.

Application Form: 

You fill up the Application Form Online at the official website(Railway RRB Bangalore). The website has set an easy application process. Candidates must follow the instructions correctly while filling the application form to prevent it from being invalidated later. 

Application Fees: 

A fee is also applicable, which must accompany the application form. The fee is INR 500 for unreserved and OBC categories and Rs 250 for the ST/SC/ Ex-servicemen/ PwD or persons with disability/widows and divorced or separated women, etc.

Examination: The examination stage consists of downloading the admit card, which is available on the website at least ten days before the exam, and appearing for the computer-based examinations CBT-1. A merit list is made for those who qualify here. Short-listed candidates will appear for CBT-2 and skill tests if applying for skilled posts. 

Post the CBT-2; a merit list is again prepared, and depending on the number of vacancies and posts applied for, the short-listed candidates are issued call letters. Skill tests for the typist posts are also a part of the examination at this stage. There is a slight difference in the NTPC and Technical Post exams which are discussed below. 

Document Verification: There is no personal interview required except for certain posts like the viva voce round and psychological assessment for health and safety operators. However, all candidates short-listed must clear the medical examination round and the document verification round before being counselled for the job. 

Medical Test: The medical test is a mandatory test for all candidates, including the PwD category, and the candidate must pass the Visual Acuity and other health parameters. 

RRB Bangalore CBT Exam Pattern:

You are required to clear the following exams to complete the selection process.

  1. CBT-I is a computer-based exam used for screening applications and qualifying them for the CBT-2.
  2. CBT-2 is also a computer-based exam with more difficult questions.
  3. CBAT/Typing Skill Test is a test to assess the skills and aptitude for technical jobs.

CBT-1: 

The CBT-1 RRB Allahabad is a Computer-Based Test to screen many aspirants at the RRB exams. The exam lasts for 90 minutes for NTPC candidates, and for PwD candidates, the exam is for 120 minutes. A negative marking is awarded for each wrong answer, and every four wrong answers have a mark deducted. If you do not answer a question, you do not lose marks. The CBT-1 exam has three sections for a total of 100 marks. Namely, 

  • Mathematics (30 questions and marks).
  • General Awareness (40 questions and marks).
  • Reasoning & General Intelligence (30 questions and marks).

However, the technical cadre CBT-1 exam pattern is slightly different and is the Railway RRB Bangalore’s 90-minute screening exam with four sections for a total of 100 marks. Namely,

  • Mathematics (30 questions)
  • General Awareness (15 questions)
  • Reasoning & General Intelligence (25 questions)
  • General Science (30 questions). 

CBT-2: 

The CBT-2 exam is for those candidates who get short-listed in the CBT-1 is a computer-based test for 120 marks. The questions have a higher difficulty level and are dependent on the various posts and skills required in them. The duration of CBT-2 is for 90 minutes, and every three wrong answers lose a mark. Marks will not be deducted for the unanswered queries. There are three sections in the NTPC CBT-2 Railway RRB Bangalore. These are 

  • Mathematics (35 questions/ marks)
  • CBAT or Aptitude and General Awareness (50 questions/marks)
  • Reasoning & General Intelligence (35 questions/marks).

The 120-minute exam for the technical cadre posts is through the CBT-2 exam for short-listed candidates from CBT-1 and has five sections for 220 marks. Namely,

Salary Benefits:

Several vacancies are available for the undergraduates who normally start on a salary of INR 19900 to 21700 and Level-2 posts. Graduates start with a higher Level 4 or 5 jobs, and their basic salary can range from INR 25,500 to INR 35,400. The starting salary for various technical posts like the JE/CMA/DMS post is in the INR 35400 to 1,12,400 Pay Band with an INR 4,200 Grade Pay.
