“Hello everyone, I am Gursher Singh from Bokaro Steel City, Jharkhand. I have done my graduation in B.Com (Accounts Honours)  from Vinoba Bhave University. Just after my graduation, I started my preparation for various competitive exams. As I was not very sure about which sector I should opt for, I ended up giving exams for Banking, SSC, Defence etc.

My Preparation Strategy-

English:

Read as much as you can from everywhere & anywhere as these days this section generally tests your interpretation skills and ability to comprehend it. So focus more on your reading skills rather than just preparing for grammar as the tests these days are less grammar oriented and more inclined on reading skills.

Apart from this, always remember to practice what you are studying. Oliveboard English Sectional tests and latest pattern mock tests are very useful. Try to solve all the mocks given and properly analyse it as well to maximise the impact. Also refer any one of the newspapers from financial express or the economic times as the passages in banking exams are economics oriented. This will simultaneously cover up your general awareness as well.

Quants:

Best way to prepare for this section is to solve NCERT of class 9 & 10 for your basic revision. You can also refer Kiran Publications 8900+ questions book for solving good amount of questions after every chapter. Here again the Oliveboard Topic & Sectional tests together with the Mock tests will give you an edge in your preparation. Always try to work upon your concepts and weak areas and then proceed to improve your accuracy and speed by giving mock tests.

Reasoning:

I started it from basics and referred Upkar Publication Book and slowly increased my preparation with RS Aggarwal. At the end I completed my preparation with Tata McGraw Hill by Arun Sharma. But here also solving mock tests are of utmost importance as it helps us to know about latest pattern questions.

GK:
