Success Story of Moirangthem Rabichandra Singh- Cleared IBPS CLERK 2018, IBPS PO 2018

Read The Success Story of Moirangthem Rabichandra Singh, a B.Com graduate, who left no stone unturned after various failures in his life and cleared IBPS CLERK & PO 2018 in his first attempt.

A story like this truly justifies that there are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work, and learning from failure.

Here is his inspiring story:

Hi, my name is Moirangthem Rabichandra Singh and I’m from Manipur. I completed my graduation in the year 2017 from Sri Aurobindo College, Delhi University in B.Com(Hons.).After graduation, I gave some entrance test for pursuing masters, however I couldn’t clear it. As I didn’t  want to waste another year, I started searching for jobs that would suit me and can make a career out of it. It was January 2018, when I finally decided I would go for the Banking Sector considering the fact that having Commerce background would be an added advantage to it.

Brief about my Journey:

In the initial stage of my preparation, I took a coaching class so as to clear my basic concepts as well as to have a thorough idea of the syllabus of the exams. However, things didn’t work as I planned & I couldn’t clear SBI PO Prelims, Syndicate Bank PGDBF, Canara Bank PGDBF, BOB PGDBF, GIC Exam, or South Indian Bank PO.

It was when I encountered OLIVEBOARD after taking suggestions from my friend. Meanwhile  when I was searching for online mock test series & I had to go back to my hometown to give the IBPS RRB exams, things took a different turn for me. Again I enrolled myself for another coaching class as I was weak in Quantitative Aptitude. The combined knowledge gained from my offline classes and the mock test provided by Oliveboard really pushed my boundaries. I cleared the prelim exam of RRB in my first attempt which really gave me all the confidence I needed. I cleared the Mains too however missed the final merit list narrowly. Meanwhile, I cleared my IBPS PO (2018) and Clerk (2018) prelims in my first attempt and with the grace of God I managed to get final selection in Canara Bank as PO and in UCO Bank as Clerk.

Preparation Strategy

Quantitative Aptitude: I tried to clear all my basic concepts from my coaching classes. I practiced a lot from the OLIVEBOARD test series. The test series helped me a lot in realizing my strong areas and weak areas. I kept on focusing on my strong areas so as not to miss any mark from these areas. For a person who is weak in Quant, the test series helped a lot in increasing the speed in solving the question.

Reasoning: The questions in Oliveboard are more than enough for cracking the exams. As for me, I solved the questions from my coaching classes and from the test series.

English: I do have little basic understanding of English as I studied in an English medium school. I regularly read the business and the articles section of The Hindu which improved my sentence construction, vocabulary and adapting reading comprehension.

GK/CA: I regularly read daily updates from Oliveboard & monthly updates from BSC magazines.

Interview: I attended mock interviews from my coaching center. In addition to that, I watched Youtube videos of mock interviews as well. I searched questions that can be asked in the interview and make the answers myself which contain a lot of questions from the stream I studied.

Oliveboard to My Rescue:

I was searching for a good test series. Luckily I found Oliveboard. The questions contained in these test series are of high standard. I didn’t normally score good marks in the test but analyzing the test improved me to a great extent. The test series helped me in time management, in realizing the nature of questions, & in identifying my strong and weak areas.

Tips to Aspirants:

It all depends on the amount of dedication and hard work an individual can put in. Please be very clear of all the basic concepts and the syllabus. No doubt you will need a test series and I definitely would recommend Oliveboard. Please note that even if you don’t score good marks in their test series, don’t lose hope & instead analyze the questions thoroughly that would definitely help you a lot. I suggest you don’t have a Plan B & you just concentrate on the exams you are giving and nothing else.

Lastly I just want to share one quote, “Much good work is lost for the lack of a little more.”
