UPSC CDS Exam Date- Important Details, Dates, Documents

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released a notification on 4th August 2021 announcing the UPSC CDS II examination 2021. The UPSC conducts the Combined Defence Services examination twice a year.

The Union Public Service Commission conducts the Combined Defence Services examination for the following:

  • Indian Naval Academy,
  • Indian Military Academy,
  • Air Force Academy and
  • Officers Training Academy (male and female).

The last date to submit the application form for the UPSC CDS is 24th August 2021. UPSC has already released CDS II 2021 examination date schedule with the official calendar. Documents to be carried to CDS II 2021 examination center

  • UPSC CDS II admit card 2021
  • 3-4 Passport size photographs 
  • A valid and original Photo Identity Card 
  • Black ballpoint pen
  • Clipboard (if required by the candidate)

Candidates need to carry the abovementioned documents without fail to the examination centre as entry without these documents is strictly prohibited.

Candidates also need to carry their own sanitiser and drinking water in transparent bottles.

Procedure to Download the UPSC CDS II Admit Card 2021

The commission releases the Admit card on its official website for the candidates to download. The candidates need to carry their Admit cards for the examination. No candidate will be allowed to sit for the examination without an Admit card. Candidates can use the following steps to download their Admit cards:

Step 1: Visit the official website of the commission- www.upsc.gov.in

Step 2: On the homepage, check the What’s New section and click on the Admit Card-CDS II Examination 2021 link

Step 3: A new page will open; click on Download.

Step 4: Read all the instructions carefully. Take a printout of instructions, if required.

Step 5: Click on yes, and a new page will open

Step 6: Enter the following details in the provided areas – Registration number and date of birth, or, Roll number and date of birth, or Name, Father’s Name, and date of birth

Step 7: After the details are filled in, click on the submit.

Step 8: The online Admit card for CDS II 2021 will be displayed on the screen.

Step 9: Download and save it.

UPSC CDS II 2021 Exam Day Instructions

Candidates must follow various instructions on the day of the CDS II 2021 examination to avoid any issues/problems. The CDS II 2021 Admit Card will have a set of instructions to be followed by candidates.

  • Candidates without CDS II Admit Card 2021 will not be allowed to take the entrance examination under any circumstances.
  • Preserve the admit card safely during the entire duration of the examination. The invigilator may ask for it anytime during the examination.
  • Reach the examination center twenty minutes before the commencement of the examination.
  • Appearing candidates must not bring electronic gadgets such as calculators, calculating devices like mobile phones, pager, etc., to the examination hall.
  • Candidates will not be permitted to leave the examination hall before the completion of the test.
  • Candidates must not carry log tables, electronic watches, slide rules, mobile phones, laptops, or similar devices to the examination hall.
  • Possession or usage of any such devices is strictly prohibited during the CDS II 2021 examination.
  • The candidate will be expelled if found having or using any of the above-mentioned devices.

UPSC CDS 2021 COVID-19 Guidelines

  • Candidates must carry their own hand sanitizer in a transparent bottle to the UPSC CDS II 2021 examination center.
  • Candidates must wear a face mask or shield for the full duration of the CDS II 2021 examination.
  • The examination conducting authorities will provide no drinking water, so candidates should carry their own water in a transparent bottle.
  • Candidates have to follow all social distancing guidelines and SOPs issued by the Government of India and UPSC.
