LIC trims stake in BHEL to 9.617%

Life Insurance Corporation of India has reduced its shareholding in Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd to 9.617% from 11.701%.

In a disclosure to the exchanges, LIC said it sold the shares at an average price of ₹79.58 through the secondary market between June 2019 and December 2023.

Slight Declines In Insurance Penetration, Female Policyholders’ Proportion: IRDAI Report 2022-23

Despite IRDAI’s goal of ‘Insurance for All’ by 2047, life insurance penetration dropped marginally to 3% in 2022-23 from 3.2% in the previous year.

Govt to extend RoDTEP benefits to e-commerce exports

Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal said that the government has decided to extend the benefits of the export-boosting scheme Remission of Duties and Taxes on Exported Products (RoDTEP) to e-commerce exports.

The RoDTEP scheme, which came into effect three years ago, refunds the embedded non-creditable central, state, and local levies paid on inputs to exporters.
