The RRB ALP age limit is 18 – 33 years. Candidates should be within this age group to be recruited as an Assistant Loco Pilot:

What is the educational qualification required for RRB ALP?
The minimum RRB ALP qualification required is matriculation to join the Indian Railways. The Railway ALP Qualification requirement details are given below for exam aspirants:

RRB ALP Nationality 2026
To be recruited as an Assistant Loco Pilot, candidates also need to meet the nationality criteria set by the RRB. Applicants must meet one of the following nationality criteria to be eligible for the examination:
- Candidates must be from India, Nepal, or Bhutan
- Tibetan refugees who came to India before January 1, 1962, to settle permanently can also apply.
- Applicants who are of Indian origin and have arrived from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, or the East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, or Vietnam to settle permanently can also apply.
What is the RRB ALP Medical Qualification required?
The basic RRB ALP medical qualification requires candidates to be physically fit in all aspects. It may also vary according to the post a candidate is recruited into. Every shortlisted applicant from CBT 2 will have to appear for a medical test. The board will examine the general fitness and visual acuity of candidates. The table below shows the RRB ALP medical qualification requirements:
