Exams organized by IBPS

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection is a body that recruits officers and other staff members for all the public sector banks except the State Bank of India. IBPS has mandated qualifying the Common Written Examination or CWE to be recruited as a Probationary Officer or Clerk or Management Trainee in any of its 22 participating banks.

Here is a list of entrance exams organized by IBPS-

1. IBPS PO Examination

Probationary Officer is a post that pays a hefty paycheck and comes with a significant amount of esteem and regard. If you want to become a PO, you will have to qualify the entrance exam which comprises 3 phases-

• Phase 1- the preliminary test (Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning Ability and English Language)
• Phase 2- the mains test (Reasoning and Computer Aptitude, English Language, Data Analysis and Interpretation, General/Economic/Banking Awareness)
• Phase 3- interview

 

2. IBPS Clerical Examination

IBPS Clerk exams are just as popular as the PO exams. This test has 2 phases-

• Phase 1- the preliminary test (Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning Ability and English Language)
• Phase 2- the mains test (Reasoning and Computer Aptitude, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, General/Economic/Banking Awareness)

There is no interview in this entrance exam.

3. IBPS Specialists Examination

This entrance exam hires IR officers, Rajbhasha Adhikari Officers, Law Officers, HR Officers, Agricultural Field Officers, and Marketing Officers.

Like the IBPS PO exam, this entrance exam to has 3 phases-

• Phase 1- the preliminary test (Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning Ability and English Language)
• Phase 2 or the mains will test the candidate on his/her Professional Knowledge
• Interview

 

4. IBPS RRB Exam

This entrance exam recruits personnel for the Regional Rural Banks. This is another very trusted examination. To be in the RRB cadre, a candidate will have to qualify three stages of the entrance exam-

• Preliminary
• Mains
• Interview

The State Bank of India recruits its own personnel and posts them across the country. Here are the SBI exams you need to know about-

5. SBI PO Exam

This is one of the most challenging bank exams in India and you need lots of preparation well in advance to get a good score in this exam. These are the phases of the exam-

• Prelims Phase– (Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning Ability and English Language)
• Mains (Reasoning and Computer Aptitude, English Language, Data Analysis and Interpretation, General/Economic/Banking Awareness). The mains will also accommodate a descriptive paper, a test of the English Language.

6. SBI Clerical Exam

This exam recruits people for the clerical posts. Here is the format of SBI Clerical entrance exam-

• Preliminary exam (Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning Ability and English Language)
• Mains ( General English, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning Ability, and Computer Aptitude, General/Financial Awareness)

There is no interview for this exam.

7. SBI Specialist Officers Exam

This test recruits assistant managers, engineers, analysts, architects, designers, developers administrators, chartered accountants, tester, innovation specialist and various other posts for its branches across the country.

For most of the posts, it is a 2-part entrance exam-

• Paper 1
• Paper 2 or Professional Knowledge

There will a descriptive 3rd paper for the post of Economist.

8. RBI Grade B Exam
