• The Uttar Pradesh SRTC has launched a dedicated women helpline, “Damini”, which is a calling and WhatsApp service for the safety of women. Number “81142-77777” has been subscribed for the helpline, which is an extension of Nirbhaya Yojana.
• IIT Guwahati Researchers have developed materials that can produce energy form water on a small scale.
• EESL has signed an MoU with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation for setting up charging infrastructure to boost electric mobility. It will cover collaborations for planning, development & installation of charging facilities for 2,3& 4 wheelers.
• ITBP DG SS Deswal has been given the additional charge of CRPF as its serving DG, RR Bhatnagar retired. Bhatnagar was appointed as DG of CRPF in 2017.
• General Manoj Mukund Naravane took charge as the 28th chief of Army Staff succeeding General Bipin Singh Rawat.
• The famous 11-day long ‘Dhanu Jatra’, considered as the largest open-air theatre of the world begins at Bargarh, Odisha.

• Taiwan President Tsai Ing-wen said that Taiwan would not accept a “one country, two systems” political formula suggested by Beijing citing that it failed in Hong Kong.
• The Pakistan Government has approved the amendments to the Army Act, a few weeks after it assured the Supreme court of the amendment of rule in reappointment of Army Chief.

• Spain’s Fernando Alonso is set to become the first Formula One Champion to compete in the Dakar Rally, which is about to start in Saudi Arabia.
• 3rd Khelo India Youth games to include  Lawn Ball & Cycling in the khelo India games for the first time. Total of 20 competitions will be held at 11 venues.
