Hello everyone, first of all, it is not a success story. I don’t think I am yet in a place to call it a success story. I’d rather call it an experience story. So thank you Oliveboard for giving me this chance to share my experience with all the future achievers.

My name is Rachna Thakur. I did my graduation in commerce in 2017. After completing my graduation I started preparing for bank exams.

After giving the first few exams, I realized it is not as easy as I thought, with the competition scaling up and vacancies plugging down. I started appearing in exams in 2017. I have appeared for more than 20 exams. I failed eight times in prelims.

IBPS clerk 2018: cleared pre, failed in mains

LIC AAO: Cleared pre, cleared mains, but failed to appear in final merit

IDBI AM: Waiting list

SBI clerk 2019: Cleared pre, failed in mains

SBI PO 2019: Cleared pre, failed in mains by 0.21 marks

IBPS PO 2019: Failed by 1.68 marks in final merit

I failed mains but was very close in clearing the cut-off, so that gave me a boost and a positive attitude that I can have my job for sure. And finally, I got selected in IBPS Clerk (Bank of Baroda) and in FCI AG III.

2. Rachna Thakur Subject-Wise Preparation Strategy

2.1 Quant Section Preparation Strategy

Though my favorite subject was always maths still, I needed to learn approaches that make the solution easier and faster. And for that, I used to see videos of many teachers from various Youtube channels.

2.2 Reasoning Section Preparation Strategy

It is everyone’s favorite. I used to solve the puzzles daily. Almost 8-10 puzzles of different types. I used to take them from every platform available. Just solving more and more makes the approach clear and speed faster.

2.3 General Awareness Section Preparation Strategy

I did my GA preparation from Oliveboard bolt series and the 400 MCQs they released and believe me, it helped me a lot. For this, I want to thank them too for my success.

2.4 English section Preparation Strategy

I used to write on a daily basis on many news platforms and they used to edit my grammatical errors and all. The objective was to learn new vocab words. I didn’t spend much time in English.

3. Role of Oliveboard

I used to give online mock tests available on Oliveboard. My thinking is Oliveboard has the best mock tests available. Very on point, though little tough but good.
