JKSSB Panchayat Secretary Exam Pattern as per the latest JKSSB official notification is as follows:

(I) The Examination will consist of Objective Type, Multiple choice questions only. The questions will be set in English only.

JKSSB VLW / Panchayat Secretary Preparation Strategy
The preparation strategy for the JKSSB VLW exam is based on the subjects that are prescribed in the syllabus. The JKSSB VLW exam consists of 5 Sections or subjects which are as follows:
- General Awareness with Special Reference of UT of J&K
- General English & Comprehension
- General Intelligence & Reasoning
- Quantitative Aptitude
- Basic Knowledge of Computers

General Awareness with Special Reference of UT of J&K
The General Awareness section is one of the most interesting sections of the JKSSB VLW exam and carries 20 marks. The questions that can be expected to be asked from this section are based on Current Affairs ( Read last 12-18 months’ current affairs), various aspects of India such as political and physical division, climate, crops, transportation, demography, economy, lakes and rivers, culture and heritage, Indian history and freedom movement, Indian constitution- articles, amendments, preamble, fundamental rights and duties, science and technology, taxation, environment etc.
With reference to UT of J&K, the topics that need to be studied are the JK reorganisation Act, history, economy, fauna and flora, tourist destinations, culture and heritage of J&K, Panchayati Raj, Government Sponsored Schemes.
Preparation strategy
To prepare for this section one needs to read current affairs and follow newspapers regularly for the latest happenings. This not only helps in current affairs preparation but also for the English section.
For history, geography, economics and polity, follow the NCERT textbooks for classes 11 and 12. It will provide ample preparation for these topics.
To prepare for General Awareness topics on J&K, it is suggested to go through the textbooks of class 11 and 12 level of JK Board and national level portals like districts.nic.in.

General English and Comprehension
The topics that candidates need to cover in this section are tenses, articles, fillers, synonym antonyms, idioms and phrases, sentence rearrangement, one-word substitutions, reading comprehension passages, cloze test and error spotting.
The weightage of marks from this section is 20, which is a great opportunity to score marks faster.
Preparation Strategy
It can be said that the preparation strategy for this section should be practising more questions on scoring topics like cloze test, reading comprehension, antonyms and synonyms, active and passive voice, one-word substitution, fillers, sentence rearrangement and error spotting. Covering these topics can fetch you a good score in English.

General Intelligence and Reasoning
This is one of the trickier parts of the exam syllabus but with good practice, the questions can be solved easily. The syllabus of reasoning is on par with the syllabus of major competitive exams like SSC, Railways etc and if a candidate has already been preparing for any of them, there won’t be any need for separate preparation.
Preparation Strategy
Reasoning questions can be asked from various topics such as coding-decoding, BODMAS(mathematical operations), analogy and classification, paper folding, number and alphabetical series, logical reasoning etc. These are some of the most important topics and should be prepared well to score more marks.

Quantitative Aptitude
The level of questions asked in the quantitative aptitude sections will be based on the difficulty level of Class 10. The most important topics to cover will be profit and loss, compound and simple interest, trigonometry, mensuration, speed and distance, average, percentage, simplification etc.
The weightage of the quant section is 15 marks and therefore a scoring section.

The weightage for this section is the highest among all sections with 25 marks. Therefore, a candidate needs to prepare this section thoroughly.
