  • ESAF Small Finance Bank has appointed PR Ravi Mohan as its new Chairman. He has replaced R. Prabha.
  • The cabinet cleared k Subrahmanyam Committee’s nominated Chief Of Defence Staff, 1st in India on Wednesday. CDS will direct the 3 services chiefs & create new theatre commands for an optimal military response on case of hostilities.
  • Renowned Hindustani classical vocalist Vidushi Savita Devi passed away at the age of 80 on Wednesday.
  • Sangita Reddy has taken over as the President of industry chamber FICCI for 2019-20. She succeeded Sandip Somany while Uday Shankar has been elected as Senior Vice-President of the chamber.
  • Hemant Soren will take oath as Chief Minister of Jharkhand on Dec 29. He was nominated as the chief ministerial candidate by the JMM, Congress & RJD Alliance. Draupadi Murmu is the present Governor of Jharkhand.
  • NITI Aayog, the policy think tank of Government will launch the second edition of Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) India Index and Dashboard 2019–20 on 30 December 2019 at NITI Aayog, New Delhi.

  • Typhoon Phanfone swept across remote villages and popular tourist areas of central Philippines on Christmas day. The wind range for typhoon Phanfone was approx. 195 Km/hr.
  • Saudi Arabia’s newly appointed Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan al-Saud will go on his maiden visit to Islamabad, Pakistan. He will be meeting Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi.

  • In the recent, ICC women’s cricket ratings, Left-arm spinner Radha Yadav secured 2nd spot. Smriti Mandhana and Harmanpreet Kaur remained at the 7th & 9th position respectively. All From India.
  • Manu Bhaker & Anish Bhanwala clinched gold medals at the 63rd National Shooting Championships in Bhopal. She clinched 4 gold medals in the women’s 10-meter air pistol.
  • Indian Tennis icon Leander Paes on Wednesday announced his retirement after a glorious career in 2020.
