EPFO SSA stands for the post of the Society Security Assistant in the Employees Provident Fund Organization. Recently, EPFO has released the notification for the 2674 vacancies of the Society Security Assistant. Currently, the application procedure has started and candidates can apply online from the official website of the EPFO.

EPFO SSA Job Profile – Roles and Responsibilities

The roles and responsibilities of an EPFO SSA are very similar to that of a Junior Associate, Clerk, etc in a Public Sector (PSU) Bank. The complete details of the type of work that comes under the EPFO SSA Job Profile are given below -:

• One of the requirements to be eligible for the post of EPFO SSA is “having more than 5000 Key Depressions per hour.” This clearly means that an EPFO SSA’s work will be related to computers and typing (Data Entry) like that of a Bank Clerk.
• An EPFO Social Security Assistant would have to support the EPFO Assistant and other higher Officers by providing regular reports and data related to the Employees Provident Fund.
• She/He would be responsible to collect and record data about EPFO Premiums, Contributions, etc.
• Proper Maintenance of Data and making it easily available to the officers whenever requested would also be one of the primary responsibilities in the EPFO SSA Job Profile.
• Recording and Resolving Queries of EPFO Members would also be one of the responsibilities.
• Based on the Department the EPFO SSA is assigned, Her/His Job responsibilities could differ in some way.

EPFO SSA Job Profile – Postings and Transfers

• An EPFO SSA can be posted in any of the EPFO Offices within the Region for which she/he has been selected.
• As per the Inter-Regional (State) Transfer Policy for EPFO Social Security Assistant Cadre, Temporary transfer of an EPFO SSA is allowed for a period of 5 years once in her/his career to any office of choice in any region other than the parent region subject to availability of vacancies.
• An EPFO SSA would be eligible for the Inter-Regional (State) Transfer Policy only after completion of 8 years of service (including probation) in the parent State.
