Steps to Apply Online for Goa PSC

The application procedure of GPSC Goa 2024 will start after the notification is out. The application form must be filled in correct manner. Any mistake in the process will lead to rejection. Candidates can apply for the exam from the official website.

To apply for the Goa PSC exam, the steps are as follows:

Step 1: Applicants must go to gpsc.goa.gov.in, the Goa Public Service Commission’s official website.

Step 2: Select the ‘Apply Online’ tab to submit an online application. Go with “New Users.”

Step 3: Next, the applicant has to register for a website account.

Goa PSC 2024: Eligibility Criteria

The Public Service Commission of Goa has prescribed GPSC eligibility criteria that applicants must meet in order to be eligible to apply for Goa civil service exam 2024. The main eligibility conditions are – the candidate must be an Indian citizen and domicile of Goa, within the required age bracket, fulfill the educational qualification and language requirements. There is also eligibility criteria related to physical standards and medical fitness depending on the job profile. Reserved category candidates get age relaxation.

GPSC Goa: Age Limit Requirement

Applicants must ensure they meet the prescribed age criteria according to their category while applying for GPSC recruitment. The age is calculated as on the last date of submission of application. As per GPSC rules, the minimum age limit is 18 years for all categories. The upper age limit varies depending on the post and is relaxed for reserved categories. For general category candidates, the maximum age is 40 years for Group A & B gazetted posts and 45 years for Group C & D non-gazetted posts.

GPSC Eligibility Criteria: Nationality

Only candidates who are citizens of India can apply for GPSC Goa. Persons having dual citizenship or any applicants who are not citizens of India will be disqualified.

Goa PSC 2024 – Educational Qualification

The Goa Public Service Commission (GPSC) prescribes minimum educational qualifications that applicants must possess to be eligible for GPSC exam. The required educational qualification varies depending on the position and department. For gazetted officer posts, candidates need a graduation degree or higher qualification from a recognized university. Technical and specialized roles require a relevant degree, diploma or certification. For certain clerical jobs, 12th pass or equivalent qualification is needed.

Number of Attempts for Goa PSC

The Goa Public Service Commission (GPSC) has not set any upper limit on the number of attempts an applicant can make for its preliminary and main exams. They can go for the exam until their upper age limit.

The Goa Public Service Commission (GPSC) mandates applicants to have knowledge of Konkani and Marathi languages. 

Goa PSC 2024: Selection Process

The Goa PSC selection process 2024 will primarily have two main stages – a written exam followed by an oral interview. The commission has decided to conduct three screening tests to screen eligible aspirants. The first is a Pre-Screening test. Those who pass or retake this test undergo the Repeat Pre-Screening. Finally, shortlisted candidates take the Screening test. After that written exam is conducted followed by Interview. The written exam tests general knowledge, aptitude and reasoning. The interview evaluates candidates’ suitability for administrative roles.

GPSC Goa Pre-Screening Test Exam Pattern 2024

Goa PSC conducts a Pre-Screening test for the post of Junior Scale Officer of Goa Civil Services. Candidates who are eligible for the exam, they are allowed for the Goa PSC Pre-Screening test.

  • GPSC Pre screening test has two papers, Paper I General Intelligence, Reasoning & Numerical Aptitude and Paper II English Comprehension.
  • Both papers consist objective type question in offline mode.
  • Paper I is conducted for 50 marks and Paper II is conducted for 10 marks.
  • The time duration of the exam is 60 minutes combined for both papers.
  • There is no any negative making in pre-screening test.

GPSC Repeat Pre-Screening Test Exam Pattern 2024

The exam pattern of Goa PSC repeat pre-screening test is same as Pre-screening test. Candidates who qualify the pre-screening test, they are allowed for the repeat pre-screening test.

Candidates who qualify the repeat pre-screening test, they are allowed for Goa PSC screening test.

  • GPSC Screening Test comprises questions on General Awareness, Indian History & Movements of India, Environment, English, Logical Reasoning and Analytical Ability.
  • This test is conducted for 75 marks.
  • The time duration of this stage is 75 minutes combined.
  • Screening test is conducted online.
  • There is no any negative marking in the GPSC Screening test.

GPSC Goa Written Exam Pattern 2024

  • The Goa PSC written exam consists of two papers namely – Paper I and Paper II.
  • Paper I has 200 questions and Paper II has 50 questions.

After the results are announced, candidates can see their result on the official website of GPSC Goa https://gpsc.goa.gov.in/. The procedures for checking the Goa GPSC result is as follows:

Goa PSC 2024: Salary Structure

The salary structure for Goa Public Service Commission (GPSC) posts is quite attractive for civil service aspirants. As per the latest 7th Pay Commission guidelines, the Goa PSC salary has a pay band component along with a grade pay that varies based on the job profile and experience. The starting salary for a Group A post like Assistant Commissioner can range between Rs. 15,600 to Rs. 39,100 pay band along with a grade pay of Rs. 5,400. The gross salary can be in the range of Rs. 35,000 to Rs. 60,000 for entry level Group A posts.
