IAF’s Training Exercise Trishul Begins

The Indian Air Force has initiated its annual mega training exercise Trishul on September 4th. As part of this exercise, the Western Air Command (WAC) will activate all its combat assets across a vast area, stretching from Leh in Kashmir to Nal in Rajasthan. This comprehensive training exercise allows the Indian Air Force to enhance its readiness, coordination, and operational capabilities in a variety of scenarios and environments.

About Training Exercise Trishul

The Trishul training exercise, taking place from September 4th to 14th, involves the deployment of all frontline assets under the Western Air Command. This includes a wide range of aircraft, from fighter jets to transport planes and helicopters.

The exercise boasts the participation of a substantial fleet of fighter aircraft, including the Rafale, Mirage 2000, and Su-30MKIs, showcasing the Indian Air Force’s formidable airpower.
Additionally, heavy-lift transport planes such as the Chinook and Apache helicopters will play a vital role in these military drills.
Furthermore, the Garud Special Forces, known for their expertise in unconventional warfare and special operations, are actively participating in the exercise.

The comprehensive use of air power and the collaboration of various elements within the Indian Air Force make Trishul a significant and vital training mission for enhancing readiness and operational capabilities.

Aim of the Trishul Exercise

In recent efforts to enhance overall operational preparedness in eastern Ladakh, the Indian Air Force has played a pivotal role by airlifting nearly 70,000 Army troops and heavy platforms. Location

The Trishul training drills are scheduled to occur in the northern sector, encompassing regions such as Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, and Punjab.
