Success Story of Ashish Mathew – Cleared IBPS Clerk 2016

I completed my graduation in 2016 from Amity university, Noida and was placed in a IT company with a package which was below par for me and I was not at all satisfied. I started preparing for bank exams from July 2016 and my first exam was SBI clerk where I missed prelims qualification by .25. That was a wake-up call.

At first, I thought of taking coaching for preparations but then decided against it and started giving online mocks of Oliveboard. The benefits were that I got a lot of time for preparations and my speed improved.
After that I attended two of exams BOB and BOM, which I failed. But I got familiar with the type of questions. I used to solve 2 mocks daily. This enhanced my speed and I got accustomed with the pattern of the question. The quality of Oliveboard mocks are exceptional.

Then came IBPS PO, IBPS RRB, IBPS Clerk. Cleared prelims and mains of all 3. But missed IBPS PO final cut off by 1 marks and IBPS RRB final cut off by 2.5 marks. Then finally my First success was IBPS Clerk and I was allotted Allahabad bank. This result gave me a lot of confidence and what followed was a set of successes:

1. IBPS Clerk – Allahabad bank
2. South Indian Bank – PO
3. Syndicate Bank PGDBF
4. Shortlisted for BOB Manipal interview
5. Finally shortlisted for SBI PO interview

I am currently working in South Indian Bank as PO.

All this happened in around 8 months’ time. I dedicate my success to my parents who supported me throughout and my sister who guided me throughout. And one important thing, along with hard work, smart work is very important.
