IBPS SO 2019 Reasoning Syllabus -:

Topic Description
Alpha Numeric Series A list of numbers and letters is given arranged in a random sequence. To solve the questions candidate would need to find either the next value in the series or a missing value.
Analogy Here candidate is expected to find the relative word, thing or number based on the given information.
Blood Relations Family relations are presented in a complicated format and the candidate is required to solve the given information and find the solution.
Circular Seating Arrangement This are part of the puzzles asked in the exam. Info about a group of people seating/standing in/around a circle/circular table in clock-wise or anti-clock wise direction is given and candidate is expected to find the correct position of each individual mentioned in the problem.
Classification These are odd man out questions based on general knowledge of things around us.
Coding & Decoding Questions are based on letter/Analogy based coding and candidate is expected to decode the information to find the right answer.
Data Sufficiency In this topic question contains 2 statements with some information. The candidate is expected to find which of the statement/s are required to find an answer to the given question.
Directions & Distances As the name suggest, in this topic questions contains information base on direction and distance. Candidate is expected to find the right direction and distance from Point A to Point B.
Double Line Up It is a type of seating arrangement based puzzle questions Here info about certain number of people standing/seating in 2 lines/rows are given and Candidate is expected to find their correct position.
Inequalities Questions are asked based on a given set of criteria and information.Candidate is required to solve the given equation based on the mentioned criteria and find the correct answer.
Input-Output A pattern is followed for arrangement of numbers and letters and the candidate is expected to identify the pattern to solve the given questions.
Linear Seating Arrangement Another Puzzle based question type where information is provided about people standing/ in a line and based on the info the correct arrangement is to be identified.
Ordering and Ranking Based on the given info, candidate is expected to identify the right order or ranking of the variable which can be people, their age, Height or even building floors.
Syllogisms A set of statements are given and the candidate has to determine whether the conclusions given are correct or not.
Verbal Reasoning Questions are based on statement and inferences/assumptions/arguments/conclusions, Cause and effect, critical reasoning etc are asked.

Topic Description
Cloze Test In this Questions type. A passage is given with some of its part left as blank. The candidate is required to select the correct option which is the best fit to fill the given blank. Most of the questions asked are grammar based questions.
Error Spotting In this questions type, the Question contain a grammatical or spelling error. Candidate is expected to spot the error and chose the correct option.
Fill in the Blanks These are vocabulary or grammar based questions in which blanks are to filled based on given options
Para Jumbles In this question type the candidate is required to identify the right sequence of sentence from given jumbled paragraph.
Phrase/Idiom Meaning Either Correct Meaning of the given phrase/idiom is to selected from given options or meaning would be given and the correct idiom/phrase matching it will have to be identified.
Phrase Replacement/ Sentence Correction A part of the sentence is highlighted and candidate is expected to replace or correct it.
Reading Comprehension Reading comprehension are long passages on various topics ranging from economics to environment and candidates have to read the passage carefully to answer the questions based the passage. Every passage has 4-5 questions.
Sentence/ Paragraph Completion An incomplete sentence will be given and candidate will have to complete it with the help of the given options
Spellings Candidate will have to know the correct spelling to solve these questions.
Synonyms/Antonyms A word would be given and candidate will have to choose the correct synonym or antonym from the given options.
