JPSC Exam Pattern- Overview, Exam Pattern for Prelims and Mains

Every year, the Jharkhand Public Service Commission conducts the JPSC Combined Civil Service Examination to recruit competent candidates for civil service positions. The prelims exam for the Civil Services was conducted on September 19, 2021, as per the official notification by the Jharkhand Public Service Commission. JPSC Exam Pattern

The JPSC selection procedure consists of three stages: preliminary examination, main examination, and interview. Candidates must clear each round of the selection process to advance to the next level and they should carefully study the eligibility criteria before applying for the JPSC exam. The candidate will be disqualified if any misleading information is detected during or after the interview process.

If an applicant passes all phases of the JPSC selection procedure, as well as the document verification process, they will be qualified for the vacancies advertised under JPSC Recruitment 2021. The JPSC schedules each stage of the recruitment procedure on a separate day and in a different location.

Stage 1: Preliminary Exam

• The first round of the JPSC’s recruitment process is the Prelim exam, which consists of objective in nature.
• The prelim exam consists of two papers, each is for 200 marks.
• There would be no negative marking in the prelim test for any unattended question or an inaccurate answer, according to the Jharkhand Public Service Commission’s official notice.
• The prelim exam will take a total of 4 hours to complete.
• To pass the exams, students must score higher than the minimum qualifying marks and the cut-off scores.
• The cut-off for the preliminary exam is determined by combining the scores from both papers.
• These marks, however, will not be taken into account in the final merit list, which will only include the results of the mains and personality test.

• Those who pass the prelim exam will be asked to attend the mains exam, which is the second phase of the JPSC selection process.
• The mains exam is subjective in nature.
• There will be six papers in total in the JPSC mains exam pattern.
• The six sections of the mains exam are General Hindi & General English, Language & Literature, Social Sciences, Social Science, Indian Constitution & Polity, Indian Economy, General Sciences which are worth 1100 points.
• There would be no negative marking in the prelim test for any unattended question or an inaccurate answer, according to the Jharkhand Public Service Commission’s official notice.
• In the mains exam, each paper is for three hours.
• To pass the mains exam, students must score higher than the minimum qualifying marks and the cut-off scores.

• The JPSC interview phase is the final stage of the selection process; applicants will only be invited for the final round if they meet all of the qualifying requirements and have passed the prelims and mains exams.
• The final merit list, on the other hand, will be compiled using the results of the mains exam and the interview phase only, prelims scores will not be taken into account.
• The Jharkhand Public Service Commission would evaluate the candidates’ general knowledge, physical standards, personal attributes, and competencies relevant to the position during the interview session.
• If the board determines that the candidate is qualified for the position based on their overall results, they will be subjected to a physical standard examination as well as a document verification process.
• Finally, a list of selected candidates is compiled based on the merit calculated from mains and interview scores.
