The RRB NTPC medical test will be conducted for every candidate after the document verification. This has been mentioned in the RRB NTPC 2019 Notification. The RRB NTPC medical test is to check whether the candidate meets the medical standards for the post he/she has applied. In this, blog, we are going to provide full details of the Post-wise Medical standards required of each candidate to clear the Railway RRB NTPC Medical Test 2019.

RRB NTPC Medical Test – Schedule

The RRB NTPC 2019 Notification states that the Medical Test for RRB NTPC recruitment will be conducted for all the NTPC posts. It is expected to be conducted along with the Document verification process. The RRB NTPC first stage CBT is tentatively scheduled to be conducted from June to September 2019. We can expect the RRB NTPC Stage 2 CBT to conducted within a couple of months after completion of Stage 1 CBT. Based on the RRB ALP exam schedule followed by Railways, we can say that the Skill tests, document verification and RRB NTPC medical test can be expected to be completed in 2-3 months after the completion of RRB NTPC Stage 2 CBT.

Junior Clerk cum Typist C-2 Distant Vision: 6/12, nil with or without glasses.
Near Vision: Sn 0.6 combined with or without glasses where reading or close work is required.
Accounts Clerk cum Typist C-2 Distant Vision: 6/12, nil with or without glasses.
Near Vision: Sn 0.6 combined with or without glasses where reading or close work is required.
Junior Time Keeper C-2 Distant Vision: 6/12, nil with or without glasses. Near Vision: Sn 0.6 combined with or without glasses where reading or close work is required.
Trains Clerk A-3 Distant Vision: 6/9, 6/9 with or without glasses (power of lenses not to exceed 2D).
Near Vision: Sn 0.6, 0.6 with or without glasses and Must pass test for Colour Vision, Binocular Vision, Night Vision and Myopic vision.
Commercial cum Ticket Clerk B-2 Distance Vision: 6/9, 6/12 with or without glasses (Power of lenses not to exceed 4D).
Near Vision: Sn 0.6, 0.6 with or without glasses when reading or close work is required and must pass test for Field of Vision(Binocular Vision) etc.

RRB NTPC Medical Test – Note

  • The above medical standards are indicative and not exhaustive and apply to candidates in general. The candidates are advised to read Chapter 5 of Indian Railway Medical Manual (IRMM) Volume I which can also be accessed at www.indianrailways.gov.in.Candidates who have undergone Lasik surgery or any other surgery procedure to correct refractory error are not eligible for the post having Medical Standard A-2, A-3 and B-2.
  • Different Medical standards shall apply to Ex-Servicemen as detailed in Para 534 of Indian Railway Medical Manual (IRMM) Volume I, which may be accessed at www.indianrailways.gov.in.
