National Gopal Ratna Award 2023
The Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying’s Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying has announced the commencement of online nominations for the prestigious National Gopal Ratna Award 2023. This esteemed award celebrates exceptional contributions to animal husbandry and dairy development. Nominations can be submitted through the National Award portal at https://awards.gov.in from August 15 to September 15, 2023.
Empowering Agriculture Through Animal Husbandry and Dairy:
The department’s relentless efforts to boost the animal husbandry and dairy sector aim to provide sustainable livelihoods to farmers. Recognizing the potential of India’s indigenous bovine breeds, the “Rashtriya Gokul Mission (RGM)” was launched in 2014, focusing on the scientific conservation and development of these breeds.
Recognizing Excellence in Three Categories:
The National Gopal Ratna Award 2023, an integral part of the Rashtriya Gokul Mission, acknowledges outstanding contributions in three categories:
- Best Dairy farmer rearing registered indigenous cattle/buffalo breeds.
- Best Dairy Cooperative Society (DCS)/Milk producer Company (MPC)/Dairy Farmer Producer Organization (FPO).
- Best Artificial Insemination Technician (AIT).

- 1st rank: Rs. 5,00,000/- (Rupee five lakh only)
- 2nd rank: Rs. 3,00,000/- (Rupee three lakh only)
- 3rd rank: Rs. 2,00,000/- (Rupee two lakh only)
National Milk Day Celebration:
