On August 11th, Vice-President Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar addressed the launch of the “Har Ghar Tiranga Bike Rally” at Pragati Maidan in Delhi. This rally is a part of the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign, aiming to promote widespread participation and engagement.
As part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM), the “Har Ghar Tiranga” initiative will be observed nationwide from August 13th to August 15th, 2023. During this period, people will be encouraged to proudly hoist the national flag on their premises.
About the Har Ghar Tiranga Bike Rally
The bike rally, inaugurated by the Vice President will follow a route from its starting point to the India Gate circle. The rally’s path will encompass a circle around India Gate, passing through Kartavya Path, and concluding at the Major Dhyan Chand Stadium.
The rally, involving Members of Parliament and Ministers, was scheduled for 8:00 AM at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi. The event was also attended by Shri G. Kishan Reddy, the Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Development of the North Eastern Region.
About the “Har Ghar Tiranga” Campaign
Har Ghar Tiranga is a campaign launched by the Government of India to encourage people to hoist the Indian flag at their homes to mark the 75th anniversary of India’s independence. The campaign was launched on August 13, 2022, and will run until August 15, 2023.
Aim of the Campaign
- Invoke the feeling of patriotism among citizens.
- Spread awareness about the Indian National Flag.
- Promote national unity and integration.
In the previous year, the campaign achieved tremendous success with millions of households physically hoisting the national flag and six million individuals uploading selfies on the Har Ghar Tiranga website.
