Odisha Public Service Commission has released the notification for the recruitment of Lecturers in the State. Currently, the application procedure for the examination is going on. Candidates who are interested in this recruitment and are willing to apply online must be aware of the syllabus and exam pattern of OPSC Lecturer. OPSC Lecturer Exam Pattern

OPSC Lecturer examination consists of Common Subject examinations, two papers i.e. Paper-I & Paper-II, and an interview. Candidates need 50% to qualify for the examination. We have mentioned below the detailed exam pattern for all the candidates willing to appear in the examination.

OPSC Lecturer Syllabus

English and General Knowledge are the common and mandatory subjects for all the candidates appearing in the examination. We have mentioned below the detailed syllabus for English and General Knowledge.

General English

Grammar Usage

  1. Parts of speech (nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, pronouns, prepositions, conjunctions, interjections)
  2. Sentence structure (subject, predicate, clauses, phrases)
  3. Tenses (present, past, future)
  4. Active and passive voice
  5. Direct and indirect speech
  6. Articles
  7. Modals
  8. Conditional sentences
  9. Gerunds and infinitives
  10. Relative clauses

Vocabulary

  1. Synonyms and antonyms
  2. Homophones and homonyms
  3. Idioms and proverbs
  4. Phrasal verbs
  5. Prefixes and suffixes
  6. Confusing words (e.g. affect/effect, accept/except)
  7. Root words and their meanings
  8. Collocations (words that commonly go together)
  9. Word Families
  10. Context clues (using surrounding words to understand the meaning of an unfamiliar word)

General Knowledge

  1. Current Events
  2. Matters as of everyday observation
  3. Experience in the scientific aspects of life (as may be expected from an educated person)
  4. Indian History
  5. Indian Geography

OPSC Lecturer Syllabus- Domain Subject
