OICL Administrative Officer: Eligibility Criteria

Age: (as on 31st July 2017)

21 to 30 years

Education: (as on 31st July 2017)

Discipline Minimum qualification
Accounts M.Com (55% marks for SC/ST, 60% others)

or

Chartered Accounts (ICAI)

or

Cost & Management Accountant (ICWAI)

or

MBA Finance (55% marks for SC/ST, 60% others)

Actuaries Graduate (55% marks for SC/ST, 60% others) & has passed 4 actuarial papers from IAI or IFoA, UK.
Engineers (automobile) Graduate/P.G Engineering in Automobile (55% marks for SC/ST, 60% others)

UIIC Assistant: Eligibility Criteria

Age: (as on 30th June 2017)

18 – 28 years

Candidates born not earlier than 1st July 1989 and not later than 30th June 1999 (both days inclusive) are eligible

Education: (as on 30th June 2017)

Graduate in any discipline

Knowledge of reading, writing, speaking of regional language of the state of recruitment is essential

Candidates have to qualify by securing passing marks in each section to be shortlisted for main exam.

1. Online objective test

2. Online descriptive test (typing on computer)

Each candidate is required to obtain minimum score for each section in the objective test to qualify for descriptive test. Candidates need to obtain a minimum total score in objective test and qualify in descriptive test to be shortlisted for the interview.

Negative marking: For each wrong answer 1/4th marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty (both prelims and mains)

 

Phase – 3: Interview

Candidates shortlisted after phase 2 exam will be called for the interview

Final merit list will be prepared based on marks obtained in main exam (objective) and interview.

Candidates have to secure a minimum marks in each of the sections and further qualify in regional language test, before final selection. Regional language test will be qualifying in nature. Final selection will be based on performance in main exam and regional language test.

Salary & perks of OICL Administrative Officers

Basic pay: 32,795/-

Total emoluments: 51,000/- p. m. (approx.) in metropolitan centers

Salary & perks of UIIC Office Assistants

Basic pay: 14,435/-

Total emoluments: 23,000/- p. m (approx.) in metro cities.

Job Profile & Responsibilities of OICL Administrative Officers

Following are some of the responsibilities of OICL Administrative Officers:

  • Oversee insurance policies
  • Verifying clauses
  • Handle policy making
  • Setting the insurance claims
  • Responsible for running other departments (accounts, IT, HR, etc.)
  • Filling returns (official)
  • Marketing and bringing new business
  • Meeting with prospective clients

Job Profile & Responsibilities of UIIC Office Assistants

The duties of an UIIC Office Assistant are clerical in nature. The duties vary depending on where they’re posted (branch office, regional office, divisional office). Some of their responsibilities are:

  • Fill up insurance forms and document them on regular basis
  • Create and maintain a database of the clients
  • Provide proper customer service and support
  • Accepting payments from customers
  • Settling the insurance claims of clients
  • Issue insurance policies
  • Take care of routine administrative work

 

Posting, Transfers, Career prospects of Administrative Officers

After selection, candidates have to go through a probation of 1 year which can be extended. Before joining as a probationer, Administrative Officers are made to sign a bond to serve the company for minimum of 4 years. If a candidate resigns before the expiry date of the bond period, he/she will be liable to pay liquidated damages equivalent to one year’s gross salary paid to them during probation.

Candidates selected can be posted or transferred anywhere in India by the company. Having said that, most of the vacancies are in Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Hubli (Karnataka), Mumbai (Maharashtra) and its suburbs.

The candidates have to stay for a minimum of 5 years at the initial place of posting.

Promotions of OICL Administrative Officers happens every 3 to 5 years. They have a chance of getting promoted to Deputy Manager and Zonal Manager positions.

 

Posting, Transfers, Career prospects of Office Assistants

UIIC Office Assistants need to undergo a probation of 6 months after joining (could vary). Work load of assistants is relatively less and duty hours are fixed. Assistants will get a chance to rise up to higher levels like Administrative Officer, Assistant Manager, etc. through departmental exams and seniority.
