What is PFRDA and what does it do?
The Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority, commonly known as PFRDA, is a statutory financial-sector regulator in India. It was established under the PFRDA Act, 2013 and is responsible for promoting, developing and regulating the pension sector. PFRDA also works to protect the interests of subscribers covered under pension schemes and oversees important parts of India’s pension ecosystem, including the National Pension System.
