PVTG Development Mission: In a momentous move towards tribal empowerment, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to launch the PM PVTG (Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups) Development Mission. This ambitious initiative, backed by a substantial budget of 24 thousand crores, seeks to foster all-encompassing development for the Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs) on the auspicious occasion of JanJaatiya Gaurav Divas.

Budgetary Commitment to Holistic Progress

The introduction of the Pradhan Mantri Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups Development Mission was heralded in this year’s budget, underscoring the government’s dedication to enhancing the socio-economic conditions of the Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups. With a collective population of approximately 28 lakhs, these 75 PVTGs inhabit 18 States and Union Territories, scattered across 22 thousand 544 villages, often in remote and inaccessible regions, including forested areas.

Comprehensive Development Blueprint

The mission is strategically crafted to saturate PVTG families and habitations with indispensable amenities. This includes provisions for road and telecom connectivity, access to electricity, secure housing, clean drinking water, sanitation facilities, improved educational opportunities, enhanced healthcare and nutrition, and avenues for sustainable livelihoods.

Unified Approach: Ministry Collaboration for Implementation

To ensure the efficacy of the PM PVTG Development Mission, the implementation plan hinges on the convergence of 11 interventions from nine Ministries. This collaborative strategy underscores the government’s commitment to addressing the diverse challenges faced by the PVTGs.

Saturation of Crucial Schemes: PVTG Development Mission

In addition to the core interventions, the mission aims to achieve saturation for a range of schemes, encompassing the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojna, Sickle Cell Disease Elimination, TB Elimination, 100 percent immunization, PM Surakshit Matritva Yojana, PM Matru Vandana Yojana, PM Poshan, and PM Jan Dhan Yojana. By integrating these schemes, the government envisions a comprehensive upliftment of the PVTGs, covering aspects such as health, education, and financial inclusion.
