Eligibility Criteria for RRB Patna Recruitment
Educational Qualifications-
The educational qualifications differ according to the different posts for which vacancies are available. The same has been given below post-wise.
- Chemical and Metallurgical Assistant (CMA) – Bachelor’s Degree in Science with Chemistry and Physics as subjects. A minimum of 45% is mandatory.
- Depot Material Superintendent (DMS) – Degree or Diploma in Engineering
- Junior Engineer (JE) – Diploma/Bachelor’s in Engineering from a recognized university.
Age Limit
The age criteria have been given below-
- Maximum Age Limit – 33 years of age
- Minimum Age Limit – 18 years of age

Selection Process for Railway RRB Patna
The selection process comprises of two parts:-
- Written Exam
- Interview

Through the official website and Employment News, the Railway Recruitment Board, Patna invites applications from interested and eligible individuals. The received applications are evaluated in accordance with the official Notifications’ eligibility requirements. The Board sends a call letter to all eligible applicants inviting them to take the written examination. A month before the examination, the call letter will be sent. There is no interview for the majority of the role. In some situations, if the number of qualified applicants in the written examination is insufficient, a second stage written exam will be held. The successful candidates’ application data are checked, and they are required to present original documents for inspection. Prior to the appointment, the incumbents must also undergo a medical examination. The Board publishes the results of each step on its official website or sends them to the successful candidates by postal mail.

Computer Based Test
All qualified applicants must take a Computer Based Test on the stated date(s), time(s), and location(s) as specified in the e-call letter, which may be downloaded from the RRB’s websites. The total duration of the exam is 90 minutes. However, the candidates who belong to the PwBD category are allowed 120 minutes.
Each right answer will give you 1 mark each. However, there will be negative marking for every wrong answer, and one-third of the marks will be deducted.
Minimum Percentage marks for Eligibility in various categories are given as follows- Unreserved – 40%, Economically Weaker Section – 40%, OBC – 30%, ST – 30% and ST – 30%. This percentage can be relaxed by 2% for PwBD candidates.

The exam will be a multiple-choice exam, and questions will be asked from the following topics in each subject which are given as below-
General Science – The topics here include the syllabus of Physics, Chemistry, and Life Sciences of CBSE 10th Standard.
Maths – BODMAS, Fractions, Decimals, LCM, HCF, Number System, Percentages, Mensuration, Ratio and Proportion, Simple and Compound Interest, Time and Distance, Algebra, Profit and Loss, Square Root, Elementary Statistics, Geometry and Trigonometry, Calendar & Clock, Age Calculation, Pipes & Cisterns, etc.
General Awareness on Current Affairs – The awareness should be on sports, personalities, cultures, Politics, Economics, Science and Technology, etc.
General Intelligence and Reasoning – Alphabetical and Number Series, Coding and Decoding, Venn Diagram, Data Interpretation and Sufficiency, Jumbling, Analogies, Mathematical Operations, Relationships, Similarities and Differences, Classification, Conclusions and Decision Making, Syllogism, Directions, Statement- Arguments and Assumptions, etc.
