Sikkim PSC 2024: Selection Process

As per the conducting commission, Sikkim PSC 2024 will be conducted soon in three stages: Prelims, Mains and Interview. The Prelims exam is qualifying in nature and the merit list is prepared based on the marks scored in the mains exam and interview.

Sikkim PSC Selection Process – Prelims

1. The Sikkim PSC Preliminary exam is a qualifying test.
2. This stage is conducted to screen candidates for the Main examination.
3. It consists of two papers, Paper I, and Paper II.
4. Paper I covers General Studies, while Paper II covers Aptitude and Reasoning.
5. Each paper is conducted for 2 hours and 200 marks.
6. Negative marking of 0.33 is done for every wrong answers.

Sikkim PSC Selection Process – Mains

1. The main exam is the second stage of the Sikkim PSC recruitment process.
2. The main exam is both Objective/MCQ type and Conventional/Essay type in nature.
3. This examination consists four papers.
4. Paper A is language paper and qualifying in nature. 40% marks are needed to qualify this paper.
5. Paper I involves question from General Studies. Remaining two papers are optional papers.
6. Each paper is conducted for 300 marks and 3 hours.
7. Marks scored in paper I, II, and III are considered for merit.

The interview stage serve as the concluding phase of the exam. The personality test/interview round carries a total of 100 marks. The interview round is conducted to assess the personal suitability of the candidate for a career in public service and judge the mental calibre of a candidate.

Sikkim PSC 2024 – Exam Pattern 

The Sikkim Public Service Commission (SPSC) conducts a three stage examination to select candidates for the state civil services. In the preliminary exam, there are two papers – Paper I tests general studies and aptitude while Paper II tests knowledge on Sikkimese language. Candidates who qualify prelims appear for the main written exam which contains papers on Sikkimese, English, Essay, General Studies I, II, III and IV. The GS papers test a wide range of subjects through descriptive type questions.
