Success Story of Abhishek Jawanjal | Cleared SBI Clerk 2020

Success Story of Abhishek Jawanjal

Read the success story of Abhishek Jawanjal, who is only 23 and made the most of this pandemic by starting preparing for SBI Clerk. To aspirants, he says, “All I want to tell you guys is that let anything happen, if you believe in yourself, that is all. Fortune favors the brave, always”.

Here is Abhishek’s Success Story In His Own Words

Hello, my name is Abhishek and I am from Aurangabad, Maharashtra. The story of mine is no ordinary one. For sure it won’t be an ordinary one for anyone who has cracked and will soon be in SBI as its employee.

It was the lockdown which made me switch things for myself. I completed my graduation in 2019 and was in Pune for a course in design. I completed that course in February 2020. By that time, I had registered for SBI JA in January, after the notification was out. Little did I know that the form that I filled just for the sake of trying out would turn up to be the only hope in 2020 for me.

I was searching for jobs in March and the COVID-19 pandemic hit. I still remember the havoc it created across the nation. Likewise, I had to return home. Many lost their jobs and yet the banks did their work. I don’t think that any of the banks remained closed throughout the pandemic and lockdowns. There was no job and looking at the conditions, I made my mind to seriously get into banking.

Preparation Strategy

I started preparing this May and was pretty sure to crack the Prelims. I also had the RBI Assistant Pre Result in hand. So started with a few students from the private tuition classes I was in for my aptitude training in Aurangabad. We daily discussed the current affairs and used to conduct quizzes every week. There were some difficult times when I saw my batch mates from Pune getting placed in MNCs, which eventually put pressure on me to desperately get placed into some bank before 2020 ends.

SBI pre results came, and I attempted both the mains of RBI Assistant and of SBI JA. Our group had opted for Oliveboard Mock Tests as they are very relevant to the exams and are up-to-date! RBI Assistant results arrived just a day before the IBPS Clerk Pre exam, and unfortunately, I missed the mains. I was shocked as I made a very good attempt. But I didn’t lose hope and the next day I was back in the race for IBPS Clerk. Finally, the result day of SBI arrived, and I cracked the Mains. It was really a big achievement as I cracked it in the very first attempt. And this is just the start, there are many more exams to be cracked as I’m just 23 now.

Section-wise Strategy

English

I gave my complete time for English. I still read for 2 hours a day, may it be Newspaper Editorials or Books. That actually made the difference. Again daily Reading Comprehension, Practice for at least two sets, sentence errors and Parajumbles were my daily rituals. The cloze test and others used to get covered through the sectional tests on Oliveboard! In all, I dedicated at least 4 hours to English every day.

Quantitative Aptitude

For Quant, I daily used to go through basics. In my free time I used to revise Tables and Squares till 30 and Cubes till 20. That made the simplifications easy for me. Again for Mains, I practiced word problems related to Probability, Time speed distance, work and time, rest of the topics at least 10 questions from every topic. Again the number series with 5-5 each for missing and wrong ones. Quant is incomplete without Percentage. The DIs and Caselet have Percentage and Ratio as it’s primary content. So daily 2-3 DI and a couple of Caselets were sufficient.

Reasoning

For Logical Reasoning, I didn’t spare much of the time as it was my favorite and I had a good accuracy in all the topics. But I daily cracked at least 5-6 Mains Level Puzzles and practiced the basics including Direction sense, blood relations, inequalities, coding decoding for a set of 5-10. Syllogism was one of my favorites and practiced it every alternate day.

Tips to Aspirants

All I want to tell you guys is that let anything happen, if you believe in yourself, that is all. Fortune favors the brave, always. Trust the process. There are going to be hard times wherein you’ll lose hope, wherein you’ll feel like quitting, but trust me once you start getting results, only you will be able to experience the pleasure which will be worth more than the struggle you did.

In the end, I’d like to thank my parents who trusted me when I was switching my career and for sure I made them proud. My classes at Aurangabad (Shubham Sirs Academy), my friends and group mates who accompanied me on this journey, and last but not the least, Oliveboard who made the path to my success look easier than it actually was. There are many milestones to be achieved yet.
