Hi, My Name is Harit Kumar Bhoi, I have done an MBA From Gandhi Engineering college, Bhubaneswar (2010-12 Batch) and I have worked in a private firm for 1 yr after completing my MBA.

In August 2013, I decided to join the banking sector but it was a tough decision as I was a below-average student so I joined a coaching institute. The first time I gave IBPS PO, then IBPS Clerk, and some insurance exam but wasn’t able to clear any of those.

After that, I followed one YouTube channel but the same thing happened. I gave SBI PO, SBI Clerk, IBPS RRB PO and Clerk, IBPS PO, IBPS clerk, Manipal exams, insurance exams but I cleared nothing.

In 2015, one of my friends Monika Mousumi Jena recommended Oliveboard. I purchased it and I found it really helpful as its questions are of exam level. And in the meantime, I joined one more institute. Again I gave all the same exams but was able to clear IBPS SO and Karnataka Bank PO.

Due to my low marks in writing, I didn’t get a job. I really got demotivated and cried a lot. My friends motivated me and told me to study again. My father too motivated me and told me to give exams again.

In 2016, I gave exams when Preliminary was introduced in banking. I cleared IBPS PO Pre and mains too but I was not on the final list as my marks were less in writing. Many of my friends who applied got selected except me. I was really sad that day when my friends got the job.

And in IBPS SO I didn’t get the overall marks.

After that, I made myself strong and identified my strong and weak areas, and made a strategy. I used to give 12 hours to study.

In 2017, I was not able to clear Pre as the banking pattern got changed. So the topics which I knew like a quadratic equation, simplification, series were not there in my shift. I failed all exams, even IBPS SO too. Again I got demotivated and thought to skip banking and do business.

Fortunately, In 2018 I came to know about the Oliveboard Edge video course and studied and learned again from basic fundamental videos of Harshita mam, Vivek Sir, Chandan Sir.

In 2018, my main aim was to get IBPS SO MARKETING OFFICER as I found I can crack it I was friend with Harsh Shukla who is from Raipur he always tells Harit bhai you are really working hard day and night to get a job and he keeps motivating me. Then I gave the exam I cleared pre but failed in Mains. I didn’t cry. I started reading again for IBPS SO Marketing from April 1, 2019.

I preferred only Oliveboard mock tests. I purchased yearly mock tests and continued giving 2 daily mock tests. Then, I gave LIC AAO, LIC ADO, and LIC clerk. I cleared Pre but failed in Mains. Then I cleared IBPS RRB PO Pre but again failed in mains. And lastly, I gave IBPS SO I cleared Pre, Mains, and gave the interview.

For the Interview, there were 2 people at UCO, Bhubaneswar. The questions which were asked in the interview were practical related questions. I answered all the questions and my interview went well. I got 13 out of 20.

Finally, I got selected as IBPS SO Marketing Officer in Punjab National Bank.

After 6 yrs, I got success in my life and I am Thankful to God (Jay Jagannath), my parents, my friends who always motivated me. I am really happy about my job. Also, I am thankful to all Oliveboard members.

2.1 English Section Preparation Strategy

Reading English articles and watching videos of Harshita mam can help you a lot.

2.2 Quant Section Preparation Strategy

I always attempted the easy and less time-consuming topics first.

For example – Number Series, Simplification, Quadratic Equation, Data Interpretation. The arithmetic part I used to skip.

Data Interpretation is very scoring as 30-40% paper consists of DI only. Once you arrange the data provided in the question, it doesn’t take much time to solve questions of DI.

There will always be one or two tough time-consuming questions out of five, skip them, and concentrate on the rest.

One smart approach will always be to do the maximum questions with accuracy in this limited time. It doesn’t matter if your attempts are on the lower side, what matters is how accurately you have invested your time and efforts in solving those limited questions.

2.3 Reasoning Preparation Strategy

The reasoning is one paper where we can practice and excel.

Syllogism, Inequality, Blood Relation – These topics should be attempted first and then we should jump to Puzzle and Seating Arrangements.

The formula to improve Reasoning is simple – Practice, Practice, and Practice.

Initially, you may consume an hour for solving a single puzzle but as you keep on practicing you will take less time in solving a question.
