Success Story of Tulika Pandey – Cleared SBI PO 2019

Read the success story of Tulika Pandey , a girl with high ambitions and dreams who went on to clear SBI PO this year with the support of her family & hard work. Tulika believes that no failure is big or small and one should have the right attitude to turn these failures into the stepping stone towards their goal.

Here is her story:

Hello everyone, my name is Tulika Pandey and I’m a B.tech graduate. My hometown is Bokaro Steel City, Jharkhand. I graduated in 2018 and had worked for a couple of months in a private sector, disillusioned with which began my banking and govt exams preparation in fall of 2018.

The first ever exam I gave was IBPS PO 2018 and missed the chance to give the interview by a margin of 1 marks. Thus, SBI PO was the next biggest opportunity, I had set my eyes on. To prepare for it, the first step I did was to assess and segregate my strengths and weaknesses, with English and Reasoning being quite my strength and GA being a liability. Then, with a clear goal in mind to improve my GA, I scoured all the possible sources and came to rest on three things:- The HINDU, YouTube, and Oliveboard’s BOLT.

I was quite comfortable with English, so I didn’t do much except practice and improvise on my test series. For Quant, I had followed various test series and YouTube, since I was preparing from home and attended no formal coaching. Reasoning was something I had practiced multitudes of questions from every sources on a daily basis, along with concept videos from YouTube channels, Oliveboard being the chief among them.

When it came to the interview and GD/GI part, I had already had prior experience in form of campus placements and that helped me immensely. But along with it, I had given mock interviews. For preparing the financial awareness part, the notes that I had made during my GA prep came quite handy.

Some tips which I would like to share:-

1- Practice is the key to being perfect. Do not leave anything to chance. This age old adage is perhaps the most important mantra for any aspirant. The more you practice, the faster and more accurate you become and the more chances you have clearing exam in this era of sky high cutoffs.

2- How to practice? Take good quality test series. Do not shy away from it, Do not obsess over it. Just analyze it.

3- DO NOT ignore your weak portions and think you’ll qualify only on your strengths. A balanced approach is the best. No one can be best at every subject, but we all can be decent in most.

4- I don’t believe this has been spoken quite a lot about, but I will share my experience. Failure is a key part of success. it’s absolutely OKAY to be let down by failure, to doubt yourself, to curse yourself, to wallow in misery. but it’s NEVER OKAY to give up.

5- Last, but not the least, this truly wouldn’t have been possible without the guiding support and hand of OLIVEBOARD, whose test series, video lectures, BOLT capsules and faculty played an immense role in my achievement. Whenever I had to clear any kind of doubt or to reaffirm my faith in my preparation, the faculty helped me out a lot.Thank you OLIVEBOARD.

I am extremely thankful to my parents for their constant support which helped me to handle any kind of hurdle that came on my way. So, guys keep believing in yourself & remember that at the end, the only thing that is going to help you achieve your dreams is the support of your family & your hard work.

I hope my journey will help other aspirants in their preparation. All the Best Guys!
