Success Story of Shobana S

Introduction

Hello friends! I am Shobana from Chennai. I completed my BE in Computer science and engineering (2017 passed out).

Brief Description

I worked in an MNC for 2 yrs and while working I cleared IDBI asst manager examination in 2019 and worked there for 1 yr but due to some personal issues, I resigned. After that, I again started my preparation for banking exams as I was determined to get into Govt sector no matter how hard it is. Mainly I was focusing on clerical exams and with God’s grace and with persistent efforts I was able to make it to final list.

Preparation Strategy

i. Reasoning – This is my favourite subject as it boosted my score as well as confidence. As for the preliminary exam, one needs to learn the basics and the type of questions through previous year’s questions available online. Then practice through mock tests which is more than enough. For the main examination, this section can be handled by practising mock tests and by framing a suitable strategy.

ii. Quantitative Aptitude – In this section learning basic concepts of arithmetic topics like time & work, problems on trains, percentage, etc is very essential to clear any banking exam. Initially, I used to skip this for prelim exams but after clearing these concepts and attempting these questions created an edge over others. Speed practice through mock tests and maintaining accuracy can help to master this section.

iii. English – As far as the English section is concerned I didn’t put any specific effort but only practiced through mock tests. Reading editorial can improve vocabulary and is helpful for descriptive and interview point of view.

iv. General Awareness – This section is the game changer and nowadays current affairs questions are asked in-depth hence daily learning of detailed current affairs and making notes can help to ace this section. Static banking concepts are also asked which can be learned online through YouTube channels.

Role of Oliveboard

I completely relied on Oliveboard mock tests which exposed me to all levels(easy, medium and hard) of questions.
