Arunima Sinha

Arunima Sinha who hails from Uttar Pradesh, is a former National Volleyball and Football player. Arunima was pushed out of a moving train by a gang of thieves wanting to snatch her bag and gold chain. As a result one of her legs had to be amputated below the knee.

Arunima was provided a prosthetic leg. But this did not stop her. Arunima resolved to climb Mount Everest, the highest mountain on Earth. Sinha reached the summit of Mount Everest on May 21st, becoming the first female amputee to scale Everest.

Abdul Kalam was born in a poor family and had to fund his own education. His father was a boat owner who gave his boats on rent. From a young age, Kalam started earning his and his families’ living by selling newspapers.

Kalam had average grades in school but always had a very strong desire to learn and increase his knowledge. He narrowly missed achieving his dream of becoming a fighter pilot.

Today Kalam is known as one of the most successful scientists in India. He was the 11th President of India and widely referred to as “People’s President”.

A young Amitabh Bachchan moved to Bombay from UP to find work as an actor and was rejected by many film makers because he was too tall and not fair enough. He delivered 4 flop movies in 1999 and incurred a debt of 90 Cr rupees of his company.

Amitabh Bachchan was also sued by a Nationalized bank for outstanding loans.

Despite the many failures and harsh criticisms, Amitabh Bachchan never gave up.

Today he’s one of the most popular actors in Bollywood and has 4 National awards, Padma Bhushan, Padma Shri, Padma Vibhushan and a Lifetime Achievement Award to his credit.

 

Milkha Singh

Milkha Singh was a teenager when his parents were killed during the partition of India. Milkha escaped to Delhi and stayed with his sister.

Milkha was considering becoming a dacoit when one of his brothers advised him to join the Indian Army. He was rejected thrice by the Indian Army and was selected in his fourth attempt. He was later introduced to athletics and was selected by the army for special training in Athletics.

Milkha went on to become a great athlete and won Gold medals. Today Milkha Singh is known as The Flying Sikh.

 

Mary Kom

Mary Kom was born to a family of poor farmers in Manipur. Mary had to work hard from a very young age to earn a living for her family and worked with her parents in their fields to help them out.

Mary quit her studies before completing schooling. Inspired by Boxer Dingko Singh’s at Asian Games, Mary decided to take up boxing despite opposition from her family members.

Today Mary has several Silver, Bronze and Gold medals to her credit and is five-time World Champion in boxing, and is the only woman boxer to have won a medal in each one of the six world championships, making her one of India’s greatest sports personalities.

 

Nawazuddin Siddiqui

Nawazuddin Siddiqui Struggle Story - Motivational

Nawazuddin was born in a family of poor farmers in Uttar Pradesh. Due to lack of money, Nawazuddin worked as a watchman and a chemist.

Nawazuddin joined the National School of Drama and made his Bollywood debut with a small role in the movie ‘Sarfarosh’, post which he had to wait for 10 years to get a major break in Bollywood.

Today he’s one of the most popular National Film Award-winning actors in Bollywood.
