UPSC ESE Admit Card 2024: Download Link

The admit card for the UPSC Engineering Services Examination (ESE) 2024 Preliminary Exam has now been activated on the official UPSC website. Candidates appearing for the ESE prelims exam can visit www.upsc.gov.in and download their admit card by logging in with their registration ID or roll number along with date of birth. It is mandatory for all applicants to carry a printed copy of this ESE prelims exam admit card to the allotted exam center. Carrying an original photo ID proof along with the printed admit card is also compulsory on the exam day.

Steps to Fill IES/ESE 2024 Application Form

Interested and eligible candidates can fill the Indian Engineering Services Application form by following the process given below: –

• Step 1: Go to the official website of the UPSC.
• Step 2: Click on ‘New registration’.
• Step 3: Fill out the application in two parts – Part I and Part II.
• Step 4: Start registration by providing a valid and active email ID and phone number.
• Step 5: Pay the application fee.
• Step 6: Complete all sections by providing all essential details.
• Step 7: Upload the necessary scanned documents as specified.
• Step 8: Submit the application form.
• Step 9: Take a printout of the application form for the future reference.

UPSC IES/ESE Notification 2024: Application Fee

All the candidates except the SC/ST/PwBD and all categories’ women have to pay the application fee of INR 200. The application fee can be paid using net banking and credit/debit card. The candidates can also pay the fee via offline mode by visiting the nearest SBI bank branch.

A total of 167 vacancies have been announced for recruitment through the UPSC IES/ESE 2024 Exam. The vacancies are announced for the following engineering branches and posts. Detailed posts wise vacancy will be notified when updated by the authorities.

UPSC IES/ESE 2024: Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who want to fill the form of IES/ESE 2024 can meet the IES/ESE Eligibility Criteria 2024 provided by the UPSC. Some criterions are listed below: –

• Citizenship: All Indian citizens can apply for ISE 2024.
• Educational Qualification: Candidates should have completed graduation/diploma in engineering from a recognized university or institute.
• Age Limit: Candidates must be between 21 to 30 years for IES 2024.
• Age Relaxation: Reserved category candidates will receive age relaxation:
  • OBC candidates: 3 years
  • SC and ST candidates: 5 years
• Physical Fitness: Applying candidates must meet the physical standards set by UPSC for the Engineering Services Examination, 2024.

UPSC IES/ESE 2024: Selection Process

The selection process of candidates for the posts under the Indian Engineering Services will be based on the three stages:

• Prelims: 500 marks
• Mains: 600 marks
• Personality Test:  200 marks

UPSC IES/ESE 2024: Exam Pattern

• The prelims exam will consist of two papers: Paper 1, General Studies & Engineering Aptitude and Paper 2, paper based on engineering discipline.
• Both the papers will be objective type.
• Paper 1 will be of 200 marks and Paper 2 will be of 300 marks.
• The time duration of Paper 1 will be 2 hours and for Paper 2 will be 3 hours.
• Every wrong answer will result in 1/3rd mark deduction.
• The mains exam will consist of two papers related to concerned stream.
• Papers will be descriptive in nature.
• Each paper will carry 300 marks.
• The time duration will be 3 hours for each paper.
