UPSC IFoS Nationality/Citizenship

To register for the UPSC IFoS examination, candidates must prioritize Indian citizenship, as mentioned in the UPSC IFoS Eligibility Criteria.

Some other nationality/citizenship eligibility criteria are: –

• a citizen of India, or
• a subject of Nepal, Bhutan, or
• a Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of permanent resident.
• Individuals who migrated from countries like Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Ethiopia, and Vietnam and are now permanently settled in India can also apply.
• Candidates from these countries, other than India, must obtain an eligibility certificate from the Indian Government to apply for the examination.

UPSC IFoS Educational Qualification 2024

The UPSC IFoS Eligibility Criteria includes a mandatory educational qualification to ensure that eligible candidates have a good understanding of the field and possess the necessary job skills. This helps in selecting the best candidates for the position. The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree in any of the following subjects/ disciplines.

• A Bachelor’s degree with at least one subject in Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science.
• A Bachelor’s degree with at least one subject in Botany.
• A Bachelor’s degree with at least one subject in Chemistry.
• A Bachelor’s degree with at least one subject in Geology.
• A Bachelor’s degree with at least one subject in Mathematics.
• A Bachelor’s degree with at least one subject in Statistics.
• A Bachelor’s degree with at least one subject in Physics.
• A Bachelor’s degree with at least one subject in Zoology.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Forestry.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.

Students currently taking their degree exams in any of the required subjects can also apply for the exam. However, if they pass the preliminary stage, they need to provide information about passing the exam in the application for the next stage to remain eligible.
 

UPSC IFoS: Number of Attempts

The UPSC IFoS Eligibility Criteria is specific, and candidates must adhere to them strictly. There’s also a limit on the number of attempts for candidates who don’t clear the exam initially. UPSC IFoS: Physical Fitness Criteria

Candidates need to meet basic height and weight requirements. Additionally, they must undergo a physical fitness test, and only those who pass this test will be eligible to be included in the final merit list.
