4. A person of Indian origin who moved from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, or Vietnam with the plan of settling permanently in India.
5. If the candidate falls under categories (3) and (4), they need a certificate of eligibility from the Government of India.
6. Gorkha subjects of Nepal do not need a certificate of eligibility.

UPSC NDA 1 Educational Qualification

• Army Wing Eligibility:
  • Qualification: 12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern from a State Education Board or a University.
• Air Force and Naval Wings Eligibility:
  • Qualification: 12th Class pass with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics of the 10+2 pattern from a State Education Board or a University.
• Eligibility for 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme (Indian Naval Academy):
  • Qualification: 12th Class pass with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics of the 10+2 pattern from a State Education Board or a University.
• Candidates Currently in 12th Class:
  • Candidates appearing in the 12th Class under the 10+2 pattern can also apply.
• Submission of Certificates:
  • Candidates who qualify the SSB interview but couldn’t produce the original Matriculation/10+2 certificate at the time of the interview must submit self-attested photocopies to the respective authorities by December 24, 2024.
• Verification of Certificates:
  • Candidates who presented their Matriculation and 10+2 certificates in original during the SSB interview, verified by the SSB authorities, are not required to re-submit them to Army HQ or Naval HQ.
• Acceptable Certificates:
  • Certificates issued by Principals of Institutions are acceptable in cases where Boards/Universities haven’t issued certificates yet. Photostat copies of certificates are not accepted.
