The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the notification for National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Examination 2. The application link for the same is now active and aspirants can apply for the position at http://upsc.gov.in. This is for the recruitment of NDA in Army, Airforce, Navy Wing & Naval Command.

1. UPSC NDA 2 Notification 2020 – Important Dates

Here are the important dates for UPSC NDA 2 notification 2020.

  • Application Begin: 16th June 2020

2. UPSC NDA 2 Notification 2020 – Eligibility Criteria

Nationality: A candidate must be unmarried male and must be :
(i) a citizen of India, or
(ii) a subject of Nepal, or
(iii) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or

(iv) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, and Ethiopia or Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii) and (iv) above shall be a person in whose favor a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India. Certificate of eligibility will not, however, be necessary in the case of candidates who are Gorkha subjects of Nepal.

2.1 UPSC NDA 2020 – Age Limit

Only unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 02nd January 2002, and not later than 1st January 2005 are eligible.

NOTE 1: Candidates should note that only the date of birth as recorded in the Matriculation/ Secondary School Examination Certificate available or an equivalent certificate on the date of submission of applications will be accepted by the Commission and no subsequent request for its change will be considered or granted.

NOTE 1: The candidates should also note that no addition/deletion/any changes are allowed in online application form in the NDA & NA Examination in any circumstances once it is submitted.

2.2 UPSC NDA 2 Notification – Educational Qualifications

(i) For Army Wing of National Defence Academy:—12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination conducted by a State Education Board or a University.

(ii) For Air Force and Naval Wings of National Defence Academy and for the 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme at the Indian Naval Academy:—12th Class pass with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent conducted by a State Education Board or a University.

Candidates who are appearing in the 12th Class under the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination can also apply for this examination.

NOTE 1: Candidates appearing in the 11th class exam are not eligible for this examination.

NOTE 2: Those candidates who have yet to qualify in the 12th class or equivalent examination and are allowed to appear in the UPSC Examination should note that this is only a special concession given to them. They are required to submit proof of passing the 12th class or equivalent examination by the prescribed date (i.e. 24th June 2021) and no request for extending this date will be entertained on the grounds of late conduct of Board/University Examination, delay in declaration of results or any other ground whatsoever.

3. UPSC NDA 2 Notification 2020 – Online Application Link

3.1 How To Apply For UPSC NDA 2020?

(i) Candidates are required to apply online by using the website upsconline.nic.in.

(ii) The Commission has introduced the facility of withdrawal of application for those candidates who do not want to appear for the Examination. The link will be active from 13th July to 19th July 2020.

(iii) The candidate should have details of one photo ID viz. Aadhar Card/ Voter Card/ PAN Card/ Passport/ Driving License/ School Photo ID/Any other photo ID Card issued by the State/Central Government. The details of this photo ID will have to be provided by the candidate while filling up the online application form. The same photo ID card will also have to be uploaded with the Online Application Form. This photo ID will be used for all future referencing and the candidate is advised to carry this ID while appearing for examination/SSB.

(iv) The NDA& NA Examination (I) 2020, which was scheduled to be held on 19.04.2020, was deferred against the backdrop of the COVID-19 outbreak. Now, a common examination will be held for both NDA&NA Examination (I) and NDA& NA Examination (II) 2020 on September 6, 2020.

(v) Candidates of NDA& NA Examination (I) 2020 who intend to apply for NDA& NA (II) Examination 2020 should note that their photograph, signature, choice of Centre & Photo ID as per NDA & NA (II) 2020 application will be utilized for the purpose of allotment of center and future referencing and they are advised to carry this ID while appearing for the examination.

They should also note that any variation in photograph/signature/date of birth in two applications may entail cancellation of candidature for either of the two examinations or both. Such common candidates are required to indicate their unique RID of NDA&NA Examination (I) 2020 in the application form for NDA&NA Examination (II) 2020.

The unique RID for NDA&NA Examination (I) 2020 was provided to each of them after submission of application for the examination earlier.

3.2 UPSC NDA 2 2020 – Application Fees

  • General / OBC : 100/-
  • SC / ST : 0/-
  • Pay the Examination Fee Through Net Banking, Debit Card, Credit Card, and Offline Fee Mode Through E Challan.

4. UPSC NDA 2 2020 – Exam Pattern

The subjects of the written examination, the time allowed and the maximum marks allotted to each subject will be as follows:

Note: The paper in all the subjects will consist of objective type questions only. The question papers will be bilingual.

Candidates must write the papers in their own hand. In no circumstances will they be allowed the help of a scribe to write answers for them.

The candidates are not permitted to use of a calculator or Mathematical or logarithmic table for answering objective type papers (Test Booklets).
