Guided by the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Government of India is dedicated to bolstering every facet of national security to create a safe and secure nation. As a testament to this commitment, Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah inaugurated the two-day National Security Strategies (NSS) Conference-2023 in New Delhi on 24th August. This conference serves as a platform to discuss and formulate comprehensive strategies to enhance the country’s security mechanisms.

Before the conference’s commencement, Home Minister Amit Shah paid tribute to the sacrifices made by laying a wreath at the Martyrs Column, a monument erected in honor of the unsung heroes who gave their lives while serving the nation.
More About the National Security Strategies Conference-2023
Participants
The National Security Strategies (NSS) Conference 2023 witnessed the participation of more than 750 attendees, including officers at the forefront of security operations and subject matter experts. These participants joined the conference from different parts of the country through a combination of physical and virtual modes.
Notable attendees present in Delhi included Ministers of State from the Ministry of Home Affairs, high-ranking officials responsible for national security matters, such as the Union Home Secretary, Deputy National Security Advisors, Directors General of Police/Inspectors General of Police from all states and union territories, and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs).
First Day
The first day of the Conference encompassed discussions on various facets of national security, covering topics like the patterns in Terror and Narco-Financing in India, the application of Forensic Science in investigations, addressing social challenges, preparedness for Nuclear and Radiological emergencies, and the framework for Cyber Security.
During these sessions, Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah engaged with the participants and highlighted the pivotal role played by District-Level Police officers in maintaining internal security. He encouraged front-line Police officers to augment the utilization of scientific tools in their investigative work.
Government’s Commitment
The Home Minister reiterated the government’s unwavering commitment to combat the issue of drug trafficking, alongside other concerns pertaining to the safety of citizens and the nation. While acknowledging the efforts undertaken by various agencies in this domain, he urged all states and agencies to sustain robust actions against drug dealers and networks.
On Friday, August 25, Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah will address the concluding session of the Conference.
