- The event will include a band display, a retreat ceremony, and a screening of a short film depicting the heroics of police personnel, including RPF, in serving the nation and its citizens.
- This event is a way for the RPF to remember and pay tribute to over a thousand officers and soldiers who have made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty, including the 13 RPF personnel who sacrificed their lives last year.
- It’s also a recognition of the dedication and sacrifices of police personnel across the nation.

About the Railway Protection Force
The Railway Protection Force is an armed force of the Indian Union under the administrative and operational control of Indian Railways, Ministry of Railways. It was established by the Railway Protection Force Act, 1957, enacted by the Indian Parliament for “the better protection and security of railway property and passenger area”. It has the power to search, arrest, enquire, and prosecute offenses committed under the Railway Property (Unlawful Possession) Act, 1966, and the Railways Act, 1989.
The RPF is the largest railway security force in the world with a strength of over 75,000 personnel. It is deployed at over 7,000 railway stations and 64,000 km of railway track across India.
