Battle of Minds - Indian Army Quiz 2023

In a significant effort to promote learning and empower the youth, the Indian Army has introduced a remarkable initiative called ‘Battle of Minds’ – Indian Army Quiz 2023, accompanied by an engaging logo. This momentous launch took place on August 16th at the prestigious Manekshaw Centre in Delhi Cantonment.

The event was graced by the presence of Lieutenant General MV Suchindra Kumar, Vice Chief of the Army Staff, and Principals representing schools from all 36 states and Union Territories of India.

Marking the beginning of the 25th year of Kargil Vijay Divas celebrations, the quiz competition serves as a tribute to the valiant triumph of the Indian Armed Forces during the Kargil War. It pays homage to the unwavering bravery and courage of those who played a pivotal role in achieving this victory.

More About the ‘Battle of Minds’

Participation

This initiative aims to involve around 1.5 lakh schools from all districts of India, with an anticipated registration of around 15,000 schools.
This endeavor is projected to engage approximately 1.5 crore students across the nation.
Each participating school will form teams of three students, along with one reserve member.
Co-educational school teams will include at least one female student.
The participants will fall within the age group of 10 to 16 years, covering standards six to ten.

Format

The competition will follow a hybrid approach, combining both online and offline elements.
It will kick off at the regional Command level and progress through the Inter-Command stage, culminating in the national-level Grand Finale.
The competition comprises two stages, ensuring a thorough evaluation of the participant’s abilities.
The initial online elimination round will gauge students’ aptitude through a series of intellectually challenging questions.
Those who excel in this round will move on to the second stage – a regional Command-level offline competition that leads to the ultimate Grand Finale.
This approach guarantees an impartial and rigorous assessment of participants, ultimately identifying the most deserving winners.

The quiz competition’s conduct is guided by five essential principles:

Inclusivity: The competition is open to all schools where English is either the primary or secondary medium of instruction.
Equity: Co-educational schools are encouraged to include at least one female participant in their teams to promote gender balance.
Fair Play: The competition upholds meritocracy, with accessible tutorials to support participants in their learning journey.
Free Registration: Schools can register for the competition without any registration fees.
Attractive Prizes: The competition offers attractive rewards, including buses for the top 12 schools and over 360 laptops for both students and accompanying teachers. The total prize value exceeds 4 crore rupees, recognizing the outstanding performance of schools, students, and teachers.
