Finance Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman has announced that the Regional Rural Bank Exams will now be conducted in 13 regional/ local languages apart from English and Hindi. IBPS RRB Exam Regional Languages

Finance Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman, in the Lok Sabha Session has confirmed that apart from English and Hindi, the Regional Rural Bank Exams will be conducted in 13 Local Languages also. The move was taken to provide employment possibilities to all youths. The concern was earlier raised by G C Chandrashekhar (Congress) during the Zero Hour that IBPS and other recruitment exams should be conducted in Kannada as well for the convenience of local aspirants.

Nirmala Sitharaman: –

“To provide a level playing field & to expand employment possibilities for local youths, it has been decided that examination for direct recruitment of officers (Scale-I) & Office Assistant in RRBs will be conducted in 13 regional languages in addition to English & Hindi.”

The  Regional Rural Bank Exams will now be conducted in these 13 languages, alongside Hindi and English:

  • Assamese
  • Bengali
  • Gujarati
  • Kannada
  • Konkani
  • Malyalam
  • Manipuri
  • Marathi
  • Odiya
  • Punjabi
  • Tamil
  • Telugu, and
  • Urdu

Note: According to the announcement, this change will be implemented from the CRP RRB Mains 2019 onwards.
