About the National Safai Karamcharis Finance & Development Corporation

The National Safai Karamcharis Finance and Development Corporation (NSKFDC) is a wholly owned government of India undertaking under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment (MoSJE). It was set up in January 1997 as a non-profit company under Section 25 of the Companies Act, 1956.

The NSKFDC aims to provide financial assistance and development support to safai karamcharis (manual scavengers) and their dependants. It also provides training and capacity building to safai karamcharis to enable them to take up alternative employment opportunities.
