MPSC Prelims Exam consists of two compulsory objective papers. Both papers are of 2 hours each.

  1. This paper is screening in nature so marks of both papers will be considered for qualifying candidates for the mains exam.
  2. Both Paper I and Paper II have negative markings for all the incorrect answers.
  3. There shall be a negative marking of 1/4 of the marks allocated to the question in Paper 1 & 2. The questions on decision-making in Paper 2 do not have negative marks if incorrectly answered.
  4. Candidates need to score minimum marks as decided by the commission to qualify for the main exam.
  5. All the questions are set in English and Marathi except for those questions which are meant to test the candidate’s knowledge of English.

MPSC Mains Exam Pattern

In MPSC Mains there are seven compulsory papers and two qualifying paper. Paper I and Paper II are language papers, Paper III is Essay, Papers IV, V, VI and VII involved topics from the general studies papers while Paper VIII and IX are optional papers.

  1. This exam is both scoring and qualifying in nature.
  2. Candidates need to attempt all the papers to qualify for the next round.
  3. There is negative marking in the objective question papers.
  4. The medium of the paper is Marathi & English except language paper.

MPSC 2024 Interview

The last stage of the MPSC Selection Process is the Interview or Personality Test in which candidates who clear the MPSC Mains exam, have to appear before the commission. A panel of the members who are unbiased and competent evaluate the candidate based on the their mental ability, decision making ability, problem solving ability, awareness of the current events of the country and with special reference to Maharashtra. The Interview is conducted for 275 marks.

MPSC Salary 2024
