MPSC Notification 2024, Prelims Exam Date Postponed

The Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) notified on its official Twitter (now X) regarding the postponement of the MPSC Prelims Exam 2024. The exam date has now been revised for the second time. As of now, no new dates have been released by the officials. MPSC Notification Exam Date 2024

Initially, the MPSC Prelims Exam was scheduled to be held on 21st July 2024 but later it was postponed to 25th August 2024. Now, the exam has been postponed again. MPSC announced the news on its official X account on 22nd August 2024.

MPSC Selection Process

The recruitment process for the Maharashtra Rajyaseva Combined Civil Service Exam is conducted by the Maharashtra Public Service Commission. The MPSC selection process takes place in three stages, in which two stages are written and the last stage is the personality test stage.

MPSC 2024 Exam Pattern

To successfully prepare for the MPSC exam, candidates should thoroughly familiarize themselves with the MPSC syllabus and exam pattern. This understanding provides crucial insights into the exam’s structure, including details such as maximum marks, exam duration, and the marking scheme.

MPSC Prelims Exam Pattern

MPSC Prelims exam of Maharashtra Rajyaseva Exam is the first stage of the exam. Details of the Maharashtra Civil Service Prelims exam pattern and syllabus are given below. Candidates can also download the syllabus PDF.

The MPSC Prelims Exam consists of two compulsory objective papers. Both papers are of 2 hours each.

  1. This paper is screening in nature so marks of both papers will be considered for qualifying candidates for the mains exam.
  2. Both Paper I and Paper II have negative markings for all the incorrect answers.
  3. There shall be a negative marking of 1/4 of the marks allocated to the question in Paper 1 & 2. The questions on decision-making in Paper 2 do not have negative marks if incorrectly answered.
  4. Candidates need to score minimum marks as decided by the commission to qualify for the main exam.
  5. All the questions are set in English and Marathi except for those questions which are meant to test the candidate’s knowledge of English.

MPSC Mains Exam Pattern

The exam consists of six papers covering a range of subjects and testing various skills through both descriptive and objective formats. These papers assess language proficiency, general studies, ad specific topics like human rights, economics, and Indian politics. The language papers focus on Marathi and English, while the general studies papers examine broader subjects like history, geography, and development.

  1. This exam is both scoring and qualifying in nature.
  2. Candidates need to attempt all the papers to qualify for the next round.
  3. There is a negative marking in the objective question papers.
  4. The medium of the paper is Marathi & English except for the language paper.

MPSC 2024 Interview

The last stage of the MPSC Selection Process is the Interview or Personality Test in which candidates who clear the MPSC Mains exam, have to appear before the commission. A panel of members who are unbiased and competent evaluates the candidate based on their mental ability, decision-making ability, problem-solving ability, awareness of the current events of the country, and special reference to Maharashtra. The Interview is conducted for 275 marks.

MPSC Admit Card 2024

The admit card for the MPSC Exams will be out seven days before the exam date. Candidates can download the admit card from the official website. The admit card consists the details such as the candidate’s name, exam venue, exam date and time, photographs, roll number, registration number, and password.
