National Sports Awards are conferred every year to recognize and reward excellence in sports. The awards were announced by the Ministry of Youth Sports & Affairs. They were recommended by the Selection Committee of the ministry. The president Droupadi Murmu conferred the awards to the sportspersons for the year 2022.

Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award
Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna award is the highest honor in sports in India. This award is give to the sportsperson who performed extraordinarily in the field of sports.
