The Reserve Bank of India is conducting the mains phase of RBI Assistant 2019 on 22 November 2020. The exam will be conducted in multiple shifts. The immediate next thought that follows is how was the paper? Since the exam is conducted in multiple phases, aspirants become very curious to know how the earlier shifts paper was designed. RBI Assistant Exam Analysis 2020 – Mains Paper Pattern

There will be 5 sections namely, English Language, Reasoning Ability, Numerical Ability, Computer Knowledge & General Awareness. Here is a brief highlight of what is the paper pattern that will be followed.

English Language: This section will comprise of 40 marks and a total of 30 minutes will be allocated to complete the section. 1 mark will be allocated to each question.

Reasoning Ability: Total marks allocated to this section is 40 with a time limit of 30 minutes. 40 questions will be asked in this section with 1 mark allocated to each question.

Numerical Ability: Again this section will have a total of 40 questions with 1 mark allocated to each question thus making a total of 40 marks. 20 minutes will be allocated to this section.

Computer Knowledge: This section will have a total of 40 questions to be completed in 20 minutes. 1 mark will be allocated to each section making a total of 40 marks.

General Awareness: This section will have a total of 40 questions to be completed in 25 minutes.

A total of 200 questions will be asked in the exam and a time limit of 135 minutes will be given to candidates in which they have to finish their exam and score the maximum possible to clear the cutoff.

RBI Assistant Shift 1 Analysis (Overall Difficulty – Easy)

Reasoning Ability

This section saw a new type of question which was based on the Number arrangement. Candidates were given 3 digit number series and they were asked to arrange the series in ascending/descending order. The overall section was very easy.

  • Floor Based Puzzle (8 persons) – 5 questions
  • Direction Based Puzzle – 4 questions

Numerical Ability

The regular pattern was followed as was done on Day 1, no new types were introduced in this section. A table DI was asked in the section instead of the bar graph DI. The difficulty level of the Numerical ability section was easy and a good attempt of 30-34 can be expected.

This section was again a mix of RC, Sentence rearrangement, fillers, and error detection based questions. Word usage was asked this section where candidates had to choose from the option the most suitable sentence as per the word given in the questions. The overall difficulty level of the exam was very easy.

RBI Assistant Prelims Exam Analysis 2019-20 – Day 1

RBI Assistant Shift 1 Analysis  (Overall Difficulty – Easy to Moderate)

The overall difficulty level of the exam stood at easy to moderate level. No big surprises were thrown by the RBI. the regular paper pattern was followed. Candidates found the reasoning section fairly easy.

Reasoning Ability

The overall section was distributed between syllogism, inequality, direction sense and puzzle-based questions. Candidates attempted almost 32-35 questions in this section which gives the idea of the difficulty level of the paper. Miscellaneous questions were also a part of the section but were simple to solve.

Simplification had the highest share in the exam for the numerical ability section. Only 1 DI was included in shift 1 of the RBI Assistant examination making it convenient for the aspirants. The difficulty level of the exam stood at the easy-moderate level.
