Success Story of Ashish Dayma – Cleared IBPS RRB PO (2017)

Read the Success Story of Ashish Dayma who cleared RRB PO & ICICI PO after completing his Graduation & Masters in Commerce. His success story rightly justifies that Failure is not a step backward, it’s an excellent stepping stone to success. Here he shares his preparation strategy in his own words:

Success Story of Ashish Dayma

Hello Everyone, I am Ashish Dayma from Jaipur, Rajasthan. I have completed my Graduation & Masters in Commerce in 2014 and 2016 respectively from Jaipur, Rajasthan. Soon after my Masters I started my preparation for various government exams and cleared IBPS RRB PO, 2017 & ICICI PO, 2016. I am presently working in ALLAHABAD UP GRAMIN BANK. It was a journey for ups and downs with great learning curve and I am thankful to Oliveboard for giving me an opportunity to share it with other aspirants today.

Preparation Strategy:-

I started my preparation from 2016 itself but was not able to clear even the Prelims. I somehow managed to clear the SBI Clerk 2016 Prelims but could not clear the Mains. But as truly said that success comes to those who dare and act. I did not lose hope and in 2017 I prepared in a better way with the help of Oliveboard mock tests & materials for IBPS exams. Oliveboard Mock tests and materials proved to me of great help and I was able to clear RRB PO & IBPS PO Prelims and Mains. But then I could only make through RRB PO 2017 after the interview round. In 19th March, 2018 I joined Allahabad UP Gramin Bank and I must say that following Oliveboard tests and materials were one of the best choices that I have made during my preparation days.

Quant:

I know this is one of the sections where many users face a lot of issues. But trust me there is no shortcut to score well in this section apart from practicing as much as you can. I referred NCERT books to cover all my chapters and I recommend the same to all the users as well. I just opted for Oliveboard mock tests and to be honest with every test that I gave, I kept improving and gaining speed and confidence.

Reasoning:

Clear your basics for this section. Know the proper strategy to attempt each section, as at times the reasoning questions can be very lengthy if you do not have a proper method to approach them. Always try to cover all the possibilities of a question and then try to eliminate the unnecessary ones in order to get the last and the correct option. At the end keep practicing. Trust me, this is the only shortcut to your success.

English:

Instead of referring ‘n’ number of books to clear your concepts, try and stick to one and keep revising it twice or thrice. I used to refer “Plinth to Paramount” by Neetu Singh. You can refer to this book as it is quite helpful and easy to understand. Oliveboard mock tests helped me a lot in figuring out my weak areas after every mock test, and accordingly I devised my further study plan. It is very important to know your weakness and strength for each section to plan your study schedule.

GK/GA:

I did not have much time to prepare for this section extensively. So I prepared myself from the Oliveboard Bolt which comes for free every month. Like every other aspirant even I did not know how to cover this section as it is quite vast but again Oliveboard Bolt proved as the ultimate solution and helped me to study and revise only what was important and needed.

Interview:

Keep it as simple and honest as you can. This round is just to check about what kind of person you are or how compatible you are for the job profile being offered. Try to have a basic idea about your graduation subjects and previous work experience.

Role of Oliveboard:

As already mentioned in my preparation strategy, Oliveboard was the only website that I blindly followed for my complete preparation for each and every section, and I must say that I made the right choice. The mock tests and materials provided by Oliveboard are very much as per latest pattern and syllabus and helps you to prepare according to the expected standard and quality.

At last I would like to convey this message to all the aspirants: Failure is not a step backward; it’s an excellent stepping stone to success. That’s because someone who survives failure has gained irreplaceable knowledge and the unstoppable perseverance born from overcoming hardship.

All the best.”
