Introduction
I’m from tamilnadu. I’m an engineering graduate.
Madevan Ayyadurai Preparation Journey
Initially started preparing for banking. Then ssc notification came and I wanted to give it a try. Reasoning and the English section was quite easy when compared to banking. 70% of the math section related to banking only. I tried to focus on advanced math. Then I wanted to test my performance. So I gave mocks frequently and analyzed my weaknesses. Gradually my score improved.
Subject-wise preparation strategy
For advanced math follow any channel and note down all formulas and clear basics. Then solve all previous papers. Then go for mocks. For arithmetic, pick a topic and spend three days learning all the variety of problems asked in that topic and solve previous papers and give mocks.
Reasoning
Any person who is studying for any competitive exam can solve 23 questions in this section. Rest is all about decoding the pattern. For that one needs practice. Solve all previous papers. That’s the only key to score 30 out of 30.
English
For grammar I suggest wren and Martin. Be familiar with all the exceptional rules. After that whatever the sentences you see in your eyes try to identify the different parts of speech. Next step is reading. Editorial is not the only option for reading. You can read any story book. There will be two RC in tier 2. So focus on reading and develop the reading skill.
GK / GA
This section literally anything can be asked. But one has to prepare for it. In tier 2 no questions from the expected topic were asked.so try to read ncert books and take notes. Also read manohar Pandey and Lucent gk
Typing Test / CPT (if applicable)
I didn’t prepare but managed to type. But it is a dangerous move. Everyday I spend 15 minutes typing. This is important. For CPT I followed Arihant’s book. Read the book end to end.
Role of Oliveboard
Oliveboard mock test series really helped. I bought only banking so I got my friend’s id. Practiced every mock and analyzed it properly. No one knows the exact exam scenario because of the new pattern. But oliveboard got that clearly and gave very good mocks from moderate to difficult.
Tips or advice for Aspirants
Practice is the key to clear ssc. 60% of the questions come from previous papers. So buy any previous question book and practice again and again. Then go for mocks
