Read the success story of Sibam Das, who always believed that one should always trust the process…..Your time is coming……Just do the work and the results will handle themselves. His belief showed true colors and he went on to clear IBPS CLERK & IBPS PO in 2018.
Brief About his Journey:
Hello Everyone, my name is Sibam Das. I am B.tech Graduate in Civil from NIT Silchar. After 2 years of working in an MNC, I decided to pursue a career in Govt sector. My first exam was SSC CGL 2017 which got delayed by 1.5 years. I cleared all the tiers and will sit for Tier 4 on 22nd June 2019. Due to the delay, I decided to move to banking exams. I sat for IBPS PO 2018 and IBPS Clerk 2018 and cleared both. In PO, I got Allahabad Bank (1st preference) and secured 1217 rank, and in Clerk Exam I stood 4th in my state of Assam.
Section Wise Preparation Strategy:
Logical Reasoning – I followed a few books to clear the basics and make my foundation stronger.
Scoring Topics – Input-Output, Statement and Assumptions and Coding Decoding. Don’t get stuck in Puzzles and Seating arrangement, they are generally very tough.
Quants – I didn’t follow any such books, just attempted mocks and analysed the questions which I could not attempt. I attempted 10 full mocks before PO Prelims and 10 again before Mains exam. Practice for this section is extremely important to gain speed and accuracy so try and give one to two mock tests daily.
English- I have a simple suggestion. Attempt mock tests and analyse your performance. Read novels and newspaper on a daily basis. Sentence framing ability and a good vocab is key in these exams.
General Awareness- Make notes from various Youtube Channels and study Current affairs of last 4 months before exam from the capsule published by many websites. Just google GA capsules and you will find it.Scoring areas will be English and GA. Maths and Reasoning will be tough in Mains. So you have to be smart. Choose the question you want to attempt very wisely. It’s better to have a high accuracy than to have high attempts.
During my preparation Oliveboard tests helped me a lot to understand the level of these exams through their mock tests and also the questions in the mock tests were always one step higher than the actual exam which helps to perform in the real exam as you tend to find the exam easy and you more equipped to handle the pressure. Even if you feel Oliveboard mock test questions are hard initially, just keep giving those and you will find the main exam easy. Trust me.
Tips to Aspirants:
Remember, your scoring areas will be English and GA. Maths and Reasoning will be tough in Mains. So you have to be smart. Choose the question you want to attempt very wisely. It’s better to have a high accuracy than to have high attempts.
All the best to you guys for your exams. All you need is to keep going and be assured that the destination is not far.
